I particularly appreciated the possibility of being able to combine the fact of being in the center of the Kasbah, the historic heart of the medina (the tiny Souss lane appears on a 1767 map as it still is today!), in a riad very respectful of the architectural tradition, yet with charm and at the same time great comfort. Hearty and friendly breakfast on the sunny terrace is fantastic, such feelings of rest and comfort! For a private terrace with a view of the harbor dungeons and the ocean, I chose the Suite "Belem" set as a boat's cabin. The view on the old harbor, its fortress protecting from sea's tides, is going to be one of my best souvenir of Essaouira. The staff is so kind, so dedicated to make you feel good, and so is Nathalie, the discrete owner who nevertheless will make sure you don't miss anything. I'm used to come back regularly to Essaouira since over 15 years and I tried many great places already, but I will definitely come back to that riad.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! While the dar has lovely rooms, it is located directly next to a club that played intolerably loud techno music from 6PM until 2AM. There was no way to escape the pounding bass drum and it was impossible to sleep. The owner also owned the club and was indifferent to our complaints. 2 other couples our group moved out and lost money. It's really a shame because the staff was very nice.

Our instructor booked the whole place for our sketching retreat. On the first night, the music venue next door played very loud techno music until 1am. We discovered that the owner of our Dar was the same as the owner of the music venue. We politely asked for the music to be lowered in volume after 11pm. On the second night, not only did they not lower the music, they played until 2am.

We loved staying at Nathalie's gorgeous Rhiad. The rooms are really big - the location is excellent and the view over the sea from the roof is just dreamy. Her entire staff was an absolute delight - the breakfast is not to be missed! I would

Tout est exceptionnel L’hôtel est en plein cœur de la ville, le staff est aux petits soins et hyper attentionné, les lieux sont d’une propreté irréprochable, tout le monde est gentil, les chambres sont grandioses et le rooftop… wahou En plus le petit-déjeuner fait maison est délicieux

Wat een waanzinnige Riad! Ontvangst was heerlijk, kamers waren een sprookje waar je binnen wandelt & dan nog te zwijgen over het zalige & met liefde ontvangen ontbijt ❤️🔥 Wij lagen op top Floor en was inderdaad bar naast, maar dit was best draaglijk! (Als je niets kan verdragen, slaap dan in de woestijn!) Wij raden dit aan, aan ieders die Essouira bezoekt! WIJ KOMEN ZEKER NOG TERUG 💕

A fuir absolument si vous souhaitez dormir En effet il y a une boîte de nuit dont la terrasse et les platines des DJ’s donnent sur la terrasse du Dar L’ouléma. Musique à fond jusqu’à minimum 1 heure du matin. La musique tape fort dans les chambres. C’est vraiment dommage car le personnel du Dar fait tout pour que l’accueil soit au top. En fait, le propriétaire du Dar est aussi le propriétaire de la boîte de nuit. A trop vouloir gagner quelquefois on perd…

Wir wurden vom Team des Riad Lalouma herzlich empfangen und gut umsorgt. Das Riad punktet mit einer strategisch günstigen Lage: Der Fischmarkt, die Altstadt und deren Umgebung sind schnell erreichbar. Besonders schön ist die Terrasse mit einer beeindruckenden Aussicht. Die Lautstärke des nahegelegenen Clubs ist, wie in manchen Bewertungen erwähnt, tatsächlich hörbar, daher sind Ohrstöpsel empfehlenswert. Dafür wird ein leckeres Frühstück bis 11 Uhr angeboten, was den Tag entspannt beginnen lässt. Die Gasse zum Riad ist, wie in Marokko oft üblich, schmal und verwinkelt, wird aber täglich sauber gehalten. Wer absolute Ruhe sucht, wird sich vielleicht schwer tun, aber für zwei Nächte ist der Aufenthalt durchaus angenehm und lohnenswert.
