I did stay in this hotel many times before without issues. It looks that after a name change, and maybe under new management, they lost all sense of business ethic and can’t be trusted when comes to reservations. I arrived recently to this hotel with group of coworkers - all with confirmed bookings that we had made over a month earlier via FCM. Three of us did not get a room - they saw them in their system, but they did not protect enough available rooms to meet accepted bookings. We arrived relatively early - around 9PM. They sent us to some 3rd tier family hotel 7 miles away. Between three of us, we have around 70 years of work/travel experience, and none of us experienced situation like this before. Stay away from this “hotel”, they are extremely unprofessional and do not apply standard practices established by the hospitality industry.

We stayed here for two nights and I can only say good things. The reception was very friendly and our room was a suite with a piano on which I played my wife a birthday song. The minibar was available to us free of charge. There were two televisions in the room. The bathroom had a wirepool bath and a shower. Everything was very spacious. The bed was fantastic and we slept very well. The breakfast was very good, as was the food in the restaurant in the evening. Five minutes from the Euskirchen thermal baths and less than 20 minutes from Bad Münstereifel.

We had booked 2 nights for my birthday. As we wanted to go to an event at Satzvey Castle and go hiking for the next two days, the hotel was a good choice. The train station is directly opposite the hotel, so you can get to Satzvey very quickly and easily. You should park in the underground car park, as there are hardly any parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. This costs an additional €12 per night. Check-in was quick and friendly. I received an immediate answer to a question I sent by email beforehand (after a missed call as we were already on the motorway). The rooms are large and nicely furnished. I particularly liked the design of the bathroom. Unfortunately, there is no silicone lip on the shower cubicle door, so after showering the entire bathroom is under water. You have to wipe it up with a towel, otherwise you risk slipping on the slippery floor. We also had brown stains on the curtains (what do some guests do in hotel rooms?). There are enough cupboards and space for storing clothes. The breakfast was very good. A large selection and the staff were friendly and quick. Upgrading to a second coffee machine might not be a bad idea, as there could be queues during rush hour. We can't comment on the gym and spa as we didn't use them. "Looked adequate when we walked past" We will definitely visit this hotel again.

The spa area was small, but OK; unfortunately there was no WiFi... so streaming via headphones was not possible. A breakfast without a choice of fish... bearable... But: cockroaches in the room are a no-go! And we deliberately use the plural! We were immediately offered a (larger) room, but the reaction of the management was shocking: "As in the home, insects also come into hotels through open windows, as "fellow travelers" on suitcases or shoes. Unfortunately, there is little that can be done about this. We therefore ask you to excuse the presence of the small animals." Repetition speaks for itself. A good example of an obviously well-trained management team downplaying the (scary) problem and leaving it to the customer without compensation. After all, we will definitely never forget this New Year's Eve stay!

For our city trip we decided to make a short stop in Euskirchen and chose the Welcome Hotel. Overall a nice hotel in a good location, clean and spacious rooms and very friendly staff. Unfortunately our room faced the train station, which was very noisy at night due to passers-by. If you stay here, it's better to choose a room facing the side street. All in all, a very nice stay.
