I'm not one to generally write a review but i think this stay was worth it, to start the location of these lodges is stunning, lovely views over the chilterns and fabulous to watch the sun setting. When we arrived we parked in the car park grabbed a caddy and walked to our lodge (Dingle Dell) upon entering we were pleasantly surprised, the lodge was immaculately clean and Rachel had kindly left a good amount of supplies in the lodge for our use,(Eggs, Milk, Tea, Coffee, Biscuits, Jam, Soap, shampoo ect...) The hot tub was warm and clean ready for use on our arrival, the firewood was well stocked and easy to light with the provided matches and lighters. i have given only 4/5 starts for this stay because there were a few niggles i would like to see resolved before i upgrade to 5 star. these were: - The main locked door to secure the lodge (Dingle Dell) would not lock correctly the door was not secured to the floor and top of frame allowing it to be pulled open without using the key. this i assume is isolated to the Dingle dell lodge only? The walk to the lodge from the car park wasn't lit in any fashion. this made it particularly treacherous and spooky in the darkness when only using the phone torch to be able to find our way through, the infrastructure is there for the lighting but wasn't being used. The kitchen windows had no blinds, in the complete darkness you expect from such a private and secluded lodge this for me is an essential item as looking out into the darkness and knowing someone could be looking back without your knowledge is a bit spooky. Maybe this is just me that has this issue but thought it was worth mentioning. Finally there was some building improvements happening to the lodge next to us during our stay however the noise was kept to a minimum and only during normal "Day" hours as not to disturb later on, appreciate that there is never a good time to do this work and balancing doing the improvements with still retaining income from other lodges is necessary, just slightly annoying when this happens during your own stay. Overall this place is self is beautiful and it is obvious that Rachel works very hard to provide the experience we had. at its current price point (£720 for 3 night stay - Fri-Mon - weekend) i would find it hard to return, If resolved the issues Lighting/Door lock/Blind ect.. And was around the £600 mark i would return every year. If you are thinking of staying i would say give it a go, unless you are scared of the dark.

We enjoyed a wonderfully rejuvenating 3-night stay in late June at the Ridgeway Lodge. The Chilterns View lodges certainly ticked all the boxes for us in terms of a scenic, blissful couples’ retreat. Rachel is a really thoughtful hostess/owner and has planned her lodges to provide peace, solitude and total relaxation for her guests. She has carefully considered how to eliminate stress so that you can maximise the enjoyment of your stay. The lodge itself was immaculately clean and beautifully presented upon our arrival. The lodges are stocked with the essentials but with a few smart extras - the kitchenette is supplied with salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic, tea and coffee (and some biccies), under the sink there was some washing up liquid, cleaning cloths and tea towels and in the fridge there was a pint of milk. And of course there are the farm eggs which are freshly delivered – in two senses! The BBQ was stocked with coal bags and ready to be fired up. We were fortunate enough to catch a weekend of half-decent weather in this truly dismal summer so we were able to make full use of all the outdoor space. I suppose it might feel a little claustrophobic if you were stuck inside every day but we were able to eat and drink outside long into the sunny summer evenings. Of course, each lodge has the additional perk of having its own hot tub – which was very clean and at the perfect temperature whenever we wanted to hop in. On one of our days we took the 30 minute walk down to the village to visit the pub and discovered they were having a summer community event with live music. Not quite Glastonbury but nevertheless a great couple of hours listening to a performer run through Elton’s back catalogue without murdering it (we also bumped into Rachel who had escaped the farm for a swift half). The pub was busy and friendly with a community feel and I would recommend anyone to wander down there if they get the time. Like so many of the other reviewers, we would love to return again next year – which in itself is probably the best endorsement to give.

A group of us were meeting up for a long overdue reunion and really wanted to stay in the Chilterns area as it’s where we all grew up. We found The Chilterns View via web search and we were all so pleased we did! We stayed in the large Safari Tent which can accommodate groups of up to 10 people and it was amazing. There is a comfortable deck and sitting area out front, complete with a hot tub - perfect for having a few relaxing drinks and a good chat under the stars. The living area was a great size and had an inside seating/lounge area with a wood burning stove, kitchen area with hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, sink (running hot/cold water) and all the utensil and crockery you could need, as well as a great sized dining table. There is also a large American style fridge freezer for all your cold food and beverage storage. There is an inside shower/toilet room which has a large rainfall shower and is really well finished. The bedrooms have a mixture of twin and bunk beds which were all really comfortable and come complete with a warm cozy duvet and two very comfy pillows. Overall I could not fault the accommodation. We were all very comfortable and really enjoyed the vibe and ambiance that has been created here. On the site there is also an awesome club house which has a pool table, kitchen and bar area, another large dining area and a seating area with its own wood burner. This was brilliant for us, as it gave us an additional space to cook and socialise when the weather wasn’t being kind. The host, Rachel was absolutely brilliant. She was so welcoming and regularly checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. She was so thoughtful, even providing us with fresh eggs from the farm’s chickens! She made some lovely recommendations for food in the area, including The Shepherd’s Hut pub in Ewelme where we had a delicious roast Sunday lunch! Rachel has clearly made a lot of effort to make everyone who stays very welcome, and we certainly did. The area itself is beautiful, with stunning views of the rolling Chiltern hills, and charming character villages within walking distance. It truly was a very serene and relaxing environment to spend our time in. I would definitely recommend The Chilterns View to anyone considering staying in the area. It was great for our group reunion, but would be equally great for couples looking for a quite country retreat staying in the private lodges. We would definitely like to come back again, and hopefully will do next year!

We came here after our wedding and OMG we loved everything about it. The lodge, the hot tub, the scenery, the wildlife, the sound of the birds. It is so peaceful and tranquil. If your one of those people that can’t switch off and relax then come to Chiltern Views cos you will unwind very quickly. Rachel would come round daily to do the necessaries and she is a lovely friendly lady. What a great vision to decide to build this place. We did not want to go home. We loved it that much we have already booked again.

My husband and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Chilterns View to celebrate his 40th birthday! The location is just breathtaking! We were lucky enough to see some wonderful wildlife from the comfort of the hot tub, or whilst sitting on the decking! Seeing deer wandering through the fields and even seeing a Barn Owl fly over was amazing! We stayed at Chaucer Lodge and would recommend it to anyone! We needed some downtime and a place to recharge and relax, and that is exactly what we were able to do at Chilterns View. Rachel has created a lovely romantic setting and has thought of everything. The handy information in the lodge helped us navigate the lovely bridle ways to a local town for some supplies, and we used the daily coal replenished BBQ one evening whilst drinking champagne and watching the world go by. We will definitely be back and would encourage anyone thinking of booking to do it - you won't be disappointed!

Peaceful, stunning retreat away- we are indebted to our host Rachel for a romantic, magical stay. An oasis of well-being - gorgeous field, hot tub, hammock and beautifully designed cabin. We look forward to returning next year, and feel fully rested as we leave.

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in beautiful surroundings this place is a must! Where to start: such a friendly and accommodating host, beautiful surroundings, as much privacy as you require, amazing nature reserves on your doorstep, luxurious accommodation and amenities, BBQ for outdoor cooking whilst looking out onto the rolling hills....and then the daily visit of the wild pheasants and songbirds, fresh farm eggs for breakfast and evening dip in the hot tub as the day draws to a close...very very special place. This is a relatively hidden gem!
