A massive thank you to Belle <3 Such a lovely young lady - who recommended a lovely Provence Rose. Thank you so much Belle xx we will be back. We didn’t book but was seated straight away even though it was very busy. All the staff are so friendly and there is a wide range of drink. Children are also welcome which is a bonus :)

Good quality food and good quality products in the rooms The Stay was lovely but bit noisy at the front bedrooms. So if you plan to stay here try and get a back room which will probably be quieter. ELLENA was amazing and is a credit to the company. We came for our uncles funeral as we do not come from the area. So when we arrived at 3pm to book a room we saw a young lady I think she may of been a assistant manager but she wasn't pleasant she did NOT have good customer service skills sorry to say. I told her about booking a room for the night as we were staying the same night she said the price I said to her the price is different on line . She then made me have to show her which I did . She then said that's because it's non refundable. I then said well we are staying today so there is no need for a refund as we're are actually here but her front desk skills is not a standard that we are used to and when we came back at 10pm from our uncles wake we tried to get into the hotel from the front door and didn't seem to be able to get in so we tried the door again and again and the girl opened the door and liturally said this door is not open atthis time and the back door should be used. We were ins hock we were not told this and the hotel hpurs we thought was it closed at 11pm not 10pm. So when she sadi we should of used the back door she was not happy. We also was not happy as we do not coem from this area and we was not told to use that back door at a certain time . In the morning we came down for breakfast and wow what a difference to be customer service that we had in the morning .A young girl called Ellena was outstanding her customer service is a credit to your business. If it wasn't for Ellena I would of only given a 1 star rating due to the first girl the day before but with the welcome in the morning from Ellena made my star rating to you more. So it's a massive thankyou to Ellena and also compliments to the chef on our good quality breakfast

On arrival had a cold welcome by the so called manager called Teigan. Very rude and abrupt. Teigan has a problem with people skills. I would only go back if she was gone. The food was brilliant and when Tiegan left for the afternoon a young lady called Elizabeth saved the castle from being a total bombshell.

Great experience, rooms, food, and overall value. What is especially memorable is the warmth of the staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble. And let me give special mention to the wonderful Beth! Big thank you everyone, we’ll be back that’s for sure!

Stayed at this beautiful place with my hubby for a last minute get away. Everything was amazing from top to bottom. The room was beautiful and clean The food delicious and with great portions (which my hubby was very happy with) . The staff couldn’t do more for us very accommodating even when I asked to move to comfy chairs from the restaurant as I sustained an injury while running and have to stretch my leg out. Overall lovely historical hotel and loved the Xmas decorations and music !! We will be back ! Thanks!!!

The hotel stay was a special evening, anniversary, i booked it weeks beforehand, contacted the hotel explained the event and was assured I would not be disappointed. We paid £165 for the room, with an expectation that it was a hotel, in the images on heir website they looked superb, I genuinely felt confident that it would be perfect. We arrived and checked in at the bar, first ‘red flag’, the bar was rowdy, packed, and looked nothing like what we were led to expect, we had booked a table for the evening and I was again assured it would be a pleasant experience, I enquired about the closing time and was told the bar closed around 10pm. So again assured, we would get a good nights sleep. The room was pleasant enough (No 1), hand painted old furniture, no curtains, simply a blind covering single pain windows, at night the light can be seen through the sides of the window, worse still the room was incredible noisy, you can hear every voice,m vehicle and road traffic noise levels horrendous. We even found ***** from one of the previous occupants in the bedside cabinet! The meal we booked was in the corner of the restaurant, again very rowdy, we rider serloin steaks at £28.00 a piece, medium rare, chunky chips, the arrived over cooked, with skinny fries, the waitress (new) was clueless, we complained and was told the chef was under pressure as it was busy, no escalation. The steak would have been perfect had it been cooked as we asked! As we went to our room, directly below us was a Christmas party function, the music was loud, rowdy behaviour, and literally you could hear every movement, conversation, we tolerated it until 11pm, then I went down and complained, pointless discussion, the manager did absolutely everything tactically to avoid dealing with the issue, pretty much blaming me for booking the room near Christmas! She assured me she would contact the owners, next morning at breakfast I asked for an update, and was told, pretty much the same as the previous evening. I asked for a call from the owners, this did not happen! To be honest, I genuinely do not know why I paid for the meal, perhaps simply to avoid making a scene! Be warned, always check the reviews from establishments, had I done so instead of calling, I would never have booked the room! The hotel, is a pub B&B, it’s horrendously expensive, rowdy and nothing as described in the adverts and website, the noise levels inside and outside the hotel are extremely unpleasant and the staff frankly incompetent and unsympathetic with any form of complaint or criticism, the fact the owners did not call me defines their lack of customer service, and really, they take advantage of one night or ‘single stayers’. Please be warned, this review represents a genuine experience of the stay.
