My husband and I had an amazing time! Steven, one of the directors, picked us up from Knutsford in Portland and drove us to the resort. Since we arrived when no chef was available, he generously bought us dinner, which we truly appreciated. Throughout our stay, he ensured we had everything we needed. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast featuring the national dish, fresh fruit, and a stunning view of the lagoon. Having VIP access to Blue Lagoon was a fantastic bonus, and Steven treated us to his delicious rum punch. He even gave us a tour around town, making us feel incredibly welcomed and safe. A huge thank you to Steven and Mr. Donovan for their outstanding hospitality; we’re definitely coming back! Areas for Improvement: There was no iron available for use. The cabinets lacked cutlery. The blanket had a musty smell for being stored for a long time. More Towels would be great.

I am appalled by this hotel. First the positive: the hotel is immersed in nature. You get a morning view of the rainforest from your private balcony, and it overlooks the blue lagoon. It is breathtaking. However I had a terrible experience. First of all, the website says there is a restaurant and a bar. However when I arrived at 9 pm, and asked where I could get some dinner, I was told I had to go back to town. I never saw any bar or restaurant in the resort and was never advised that they were closed at the time of my booking. There aren’t any bars or restaurants at a walking distance. Going to town on a taxi costs about 50 dollars. We asked the taxi that had driven us there to take us back to buy a takeaway. We ate takeaway in our bedroom. Since we had to spend the evening in our room, I decided to have a shower and go to bed (I had spent the day on the beach). We didn’t have hot water so I quickly washed with cold water, as there isn’t a phone to call reception and to get to the night porter there’s a very steep slope. I got to bed and was cold but they had forgotten to give us a blanket so we put scarves on us to cover ourselves. I woke up at 6.30 and asked a member of staff if he could check why we didn’t have hot water. He said he will and disappeared. At 7.30 I saw the receptionist and reminded him about the water. He said they will check. I asked to please do it before breakfast because I had a tour booked and needed to get ready. At 8 they came to bring us the breakfast, pancakes, eggs and sachets of coffee. We didn’t have cutlery, mugs or a kettle to make coffee. I asked if they could bring those things and asked about the hot water. They said they will check. At 8.15 they brought cutlery and mugs. I asked about the hot water, they said they will check. We sat down to eat and they came to tell us that we had to be moved to another room. We threw all our stuff into our bags and were shown another room, without bedding, towels and that hadn’t been cleaned. There were dead cockroaches on the floor. We tried to eat our breakfast but it had gone all cold and soggy and we still didn’t have a kettle, so no coffee. I asked a member of staff to please see we’re not charged for the breakfast, since we hadn’t been able to eat it, because of all the trouble they caused. However I needed to leave for the tour, so I ran back to the old room, picked up the towels, had a shower and left, leaving all our stuff without being able to lock the door because we hadn’t been given a key. On the way out I told the receptionist that the room was dirty, there were dead insects on the floor. He said “yes you wanted to have a shower. We will clean it later”. The next morning, while we were leaving the hotel, the receptionist said we must pay for breakfast. I said I had spoken to the staff member about not getting charged for something we hadn’t consumed. He said he wouldn’t let us leave the premises if we didn’t pay. I said I will pay by

Terrible place, unclean, unfriendly and very unhelpful staff, we weren't checked in just given a key we started in a room with no hot water and got moved to a dirty room littered with dead cockroachs, breakfast arrived without cutlery and when we asked for some it took 30 minutes to arrive so we got cold breakfast. No facilities were open no food available and no bar and beware anyone who doesn't have their own transport the hotel is in the middle of nowhere no places to eat or drink within reasonable walking distance and a 20 minute taxi drive to town and back will cost you around $80 I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

We can only give this hotel 3 stars, as it was a building site, the pool could not be used, and the restaurant was closed and "under renovation". When all the building and renovation works are complete, it will be a wonderful place to stay. In the meantime, if you are looking for direct and free access to the blue lagoon, and don't mind the building site, this is the place to stay. It is a very long steep walk down but it was great to be at the lagoon where we used one of the free kayaks and had drinks and (basic) food at the bar. .Our room/cottage (Coconut) was large and beautiful and had a separate kitchen and lounge. View from our balcony was lovely too. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Tropical Lagoon Resort Google review summary 4.0 142 reviews 5 ★ 4 ★ 3 ★ 2 ★ 1 ★ Reviews on other travel sites Reviews Search reviews sharla keddo 1/5 3 days ago on Google Let's start off by saying "DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL". Everything about it was garbage. I originally booked the Black Mango suit and ended up with what they called the plantain instead. In the plantain the wifi, and hot water does not work. That very night I arrived they were notified of that and nothing was done. The following morning we saw a gentleman whom I later learned was the owner son and he's the one pretty much running the place. Told him of the mistake and he guaranteed me that it would be fix upon my return as I was leaving for breakfast because the restaurant, bar and pool was closed and not working at all. Staffing: Staffs apparently shows up to work when the feel like it... which was 3pm in the evening so all morning the office was closed and know one to assist you with anything. Office staff go to the rooms with the cleaning staff and just sit on her phone in there when they're not both sitting around just gossiping. Only professional staff was Teneisha she was the only one trying to fix the damage and due to the fact that it was just one disappointment after the next it was almost impossible for her to fix it. She should be the one running this place and not the son he is just running his father's business into the ground. Teneisha guaranteed me a 50% refund which I have not received still. This place is not worth the money. . An Inn would've been a 5 star compare to this place. To the owner of this place it has potential but please do your self a favor and get staffs that shows up at work on time and have good people skills and shows professionalism 2. Get someone that as good business management skills and experience to over see your business. STILL WAITING ON MY REFUND.

Lovely location above the blue lagoon. Regrettably and unbeknownst to us at the time of booking one week ago, the restaurant and main pool were closed, there was major construction on the property, and no hot water or reliable internet. No mention on their website, consolidator sites, or in pre-arrival communications. All this despite advertising these amenities as available. Disturbing that the property was happy to take our booking with full knowledge that the room reserved would not be available due to construction. This is clearly an interesting approach to customer service and business ethics. The staff, however, were nice but quite powerless to do much beyond finding another room or offering a free drink. They said they don’t disclose construction and service interruptions because “they need the money” after a long COVID closure. Sad that tourists needlessly have their trust and hard earned funds abused this way. My advise … consider another location until this property is ready for guests.

Worst stay I’ve had in Jamaica and I’ve stayed in multiple hotels and resorts in most parishes. The staff doesn’t care about the guests and provides no customer service unless requested numerous times. We got to the room and it had no toilet paper, no soap, a comforter was not provided for one of the beds, a garbage bin was not provided, the microwave made a horrible screeching sound, there weren’t enough towels, the AC is not functional and could not cool the room effectively, the AC was dripping water into the bed below it, and the staff left without providing a key to the room. When we called the office to complain, the staff showed minimal concern and we were provided a new microwave with no other solutions. We waited an hour in the room for the other necessities to arrive and they did not, although we called back twice to inform that we had only received a new microwave. We had to go back down the property to the office to complain a 4th time, only to find the office staff unbothered and were told that we could not switch rooms even though the AC was not working and was dripping over the bed. We asked if the staff could simply move the bed away from the AC unit so we weren’t being dripped on while we slept and even that wasn’t done when we got back from the beach. Stained towels were eventually provided as well as one single toilet paper roll after we had left. Beach access on the property required a long trek either down a steep unsafe incline or through mud. The best thing about the establishment was the beach bar and staff who were extremely accommodating and pleasant. However, we were informed that the beach bar is not run by the same establishment, which makes complete sense. After spending the night in a hot room and sweating with an AC that blew spurts of cold air but did not work enough to cool the room and dripped on us through the night, we requested a discount on the room or a refund and were met with disregard and an unwillingness by every staff member to even make a simple phone call to the owners. No solution was offered. We were informed by locals that the establishment is actually solely being run to wash drug money and they are known for not providing good service or accommodations because of this. We were also told on 2 separate days that to provide any solution to the issue, staff had to check out the AC unit to see if it was actually not working. After 3 separate staff members checked it out on one day and another checked it out on the next day, all we kept hearing was that someone else had checked out of that room before us and had no complaints. As if that means that our stay was not horrible? No solution was provided and no one called us back to say anything on either day. We spent so much of our vacation and beach time arguing with staff to provide any solution and all that was offered at any point was a complimentary stay. Why would we want to go back to this horrendous place???? RUN! Do not stay here. It is not mean
