What I liked: 1. I found the staff in the restaurant excellent. They made sure I was accommodated based on my allergies at the included dinner provided by the tour. Even at breakfast, the staff were there to advise. This was impressive. 2. The breakfast was a full breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and fruit. The only improvement is changing the orange juice since it tasted like Tang. This doesn’t make sense in a country with nice oranges. 3. Excellent location and pretty much across the street from the main churches with Fatima. What could be improved/didn’t like: 1. I had a very negative incident with front desk reception which was both disrespectful and unprofessional given my complaint was about a blood-coloured plasma stain on my bathroom wall. Since I started travelling post covid, I always wipe down and clean the hotel rooms with Lysol wipes. It makes me feel more secure. However, when we arrive in our room, we found a plasma like blood coloured stand on the side wall near the washroom faucet. I was not going to clean this by myself, since to me it looked like blood and the room should have been cleaned properly. I went to the front desk to report the issue. The front desk reception was very arrogant and dismissive. He gave me the impression that he thought I was making it up and just wanted to get rid of me. After insisting that it be cleaned, he agreed to send the Room Service Manager up to check. In the meantime, I went to dinner. When I returned from dinner, I saw the stain still on the wall. I assumed that no one came to check. I phoned reception and the front desk told me in an arrogant tone – “He didn’t see anything and there is no problem.” Honestly, I was livid. I couldn’t believe anyone could be so rude and dismissive. Fatima is a place people go for pilgrimages. I don’t see how this behaviour reflects the peace people seek in a pilgrimage. I told him I didn’t even know someone came in the room, since there was no note. I insisted that he come back, since I was now in the room. The Room Service Manger came, and I asked him to put on a mask. Then, we went into the washroom, and I showed him the stain. It was clear he didn’t see it from the last visit. He told me that he looked near the toilet. While he was cooperative and helpful, I was very annoyed. I said that I gave all the information to the front desk reception, and they neglected to pass on anything. He apologized and said he would send someone to clean it. Another lady came to clean the room and I also asked her to put on a mask. She cleaned up the stain in less than 5 mins and apologized that it was missed. I found her genuine. It is very unfortunate that a problem that should have taken 10 minutes to resolve took at least 30 minutes of my time on my vacation. I also didn’t appreciate being presumed a liar when the room was not cleaned properly. The Lysol wipes that I used to clean the room picked up dust and dirt. When I mentioned this prob
Nuno at the front desk was amazingly helpful finding us a taxi driver that picked us from Lisbon´s airport and drove us directly to Fatima. Location of this hotel is amazing, next block over starts the Sanctuary, nothing better than that. Amazing view, excellent service. Front desk service in english. They lend us wheel chari for the duration of the trip, which was very useful for my elderly mom. Rooms are sparce but comfortable enough. Bathroom suuper nice. The lady at the store next to the hotel was never to be seen, so no to that. Food was very good. All lin all, great air conditioning (with the heat it was wonderful), amazing hotel, would go back? definite yes.
We travelled here with an Exotica group. A 4 star hotel? Really? Why can't you get ice at any hotel in Portugal? I have always had an ice bucket in my room and a rusty old rattling ice machine somewhere close by even in the worst places I've stayed at. Not here. You have to ask the front desk staff and they will begrudgingly find you a small plastic bag filled with ice. I did enjoy the bidet. That is something I think we north Americans need to get on board with. It's important to keep the undercarriage clean. Rooms are clean, the bed is comfy. Pillows could be better. Much better. The ”flatscreen TV” they advertise in the rooms is smaller than my computer monitor from 1997. I'm not kidding. I actually laughed out loud when I saw it. It might be 17 inches diagonally and I'm being generous. The bar was closed. No explanation. Just closed. 40 weary travellers arrive thirsty at 5:30pm and the bar is closed? Do they not want to make money? Wi-fi was dial up slow. Now the worst part. We were offered the option to make a reservation for the buffet. $18 for what might be described as cattle feed. No, I'll be honest, I wouldn't feed that swill to my cows. It was disgusting. The ”pork (maybe?)looked like it was cooked about 3 days ago and left out to dry on a buffet warming table, I swear. Even the veggies tasted awful. How do you mess up steamed carrots? It was awful. Not a great experience. Sorry, I would not recommend this hotel.

The Charming Luz houses offer an experience you wont soon forget ! A tranquil village with separate guest houses modeling the vibe & architecture of days gone by in Fatima ... The mother house is where the meals are served in a ”homey” atmosphere and a lovely living room to relax , read or play games. A beautiful area awaits outside for relaxation & swimming too.
The hotel is cosy and small yet so welcoming with its team. The room was very clean and tidy. The location is amazing since it is a walking distance from the sanctuary. Everybody is helpful at the hotel with whatever information or support you need. The breakfast could have been better. You do not have lactose free or gluten free options. I would definitely stay again at this hotel.

Excellent retreat for a peaceful stay. Welcoming and peaceful with trained personnel. We enjoyed our stay. I was travelling with kids and can tell that from day 1 every time we needed assistance we could get it. The receptionist even helped us with the taxi on our way out as it was raining and although the bus stop was less than 10 min walk with the rain it was just not doable, especially with kids😟 The hotel location is convenient for a short walk to the Museum of Fátima and the Shrine of Fátima.
My stay at the Cova de Iria Hotel in Fátima was fantastic. I booked a family room and it was very spacious, immaculately clean, the beds are confortable, the showers are the best Ive come across and the hot water comes out fast! The breakfast has a great variaty and the staff were genuinely friendly! The location is very central to walk around with my kids and had no problem parking my car. The valeu for money is very good and I will not bother looking for another place next time I go back to Fátima.
Careful staff, huge bed, room and bathroom equipped with all comfort and basic super clean, Excellent restaurant, buffet service with various pieces, breakfast was the most expected time from the whole cafe (50 people) .5 minutes from the sanctuary

GGuest UserI chose Fatima as a stopover on the way from Porto to Sintra, and the location was great as it was in front of the Fatima Cathedral.
In addition, the facilities were newly built and very clean, so it was the most satisfying stay among all the accommodations in Portugal.
In all my years of traveling, I have never been treated as poorly than by a waiter employed by this hotel. My friends and I were part of a religious pilgrimage and the trip included dinner at this hotel. During dinner on Nov. 7, 2023, there were no seats left in the innermost section of the restaurant where for whatever reason, this particular waiter wanted all patrons to sit. However, there were numerous tables and seats less than 10 feet away from this particular section. Since we cannot eat standing up, we asked to be seated in the available tables 10. This waiter was unbelievably rude and yelled “No, go with your tour group!” We explained to him there were no seats left. He glared at us and could not be reasoned with. Make a long story short, we had to WAIT until people were done eating or were asked to eat fast and get up, so we can sit down. We were also told in a very loud disrespectul voice, to just “separate and find a seat with other people”, meaning people we were not traveling with. At the end of the dinner, we quietly approached him and said to him we deserved better treatment than that. We spoke in a very low key voice. I guess, we were hoping he would apologize. We thought maybe he was just having a bad day and that ad the crowd thinned out, he would realize he was out of line and apologize. To our horror, he was as rude as ever and instead of apologizing, he raised his voice again and said “I am superman! You Americans are rude!!!!!” He then rolled his eyes, waived his arms even more, and yelled (literally yelled) more. This is the most shocking encounter we have had in all our years of travelling around the world with a waiter. And of all places, in Fatima. We want to believe this man has problems at home which made him behave so horribly, but management should then sit him down and educate him on the proper way to conduct himself in a place as precious and sacred as Fatima.
We were attending a conference at the Paul VI Convention Center, that is around 3 blocks from the hotel, so location was perfect. The room was very nice and with good amenities, also it was very quiet as well, so I had two nights of very good sleep. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice and with plenty of nice things to eat in the morning, so it is a very good venue if attending a conference. Also they were very nice to allow me a late check out.
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at Hotel Estrela de Fatima. The location of the hotel is PERFECT, just across from the sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. The rooms were clean, very nice and the breakfast was lovely. The staff of the hotel were fabulous. Patricia was extremely helpful and caring. She was very understanding and accommodating in offering us a stay for the next day when we missed our flight. George was very cordial and gave insightful information about the Sanctuary. Vera and Rita were very helpful. THANKS Patricia, George, Vera and Rita for making our stay pleasant, for our family.
The hotel is aimed at large groups, therefore basic clean rooms. In the bathroom there was no place to put your essentials Situated near the Sanctuary. From our balcony we could see the sanctuary In the dining room most tables were reserved for large groups. Breakfast itself was varied and good as expected in such hotels. The staff were very helpful.
김김The location is right next to the Fatima Cathedral, so after opening the door each time the staff and the staff enter, it is easy to return. The parking lot is right in front of the front door, so it is very convenient to carry luggage and the facilities are also very good.
GGuest UserThere is 1 elevator that is accessible to guests, therefore, check-in was easy, but getting to the room with everyone arriving on tour took 20+ minutes. The shower stall [no bath] was short of a square meter, therefore, beware if you are a bit more round than tall. I woke up with a migraine and needed nourishment to keep it at bay. My wife and I sat down with a very meager plate in a dining room that had been near empty and the manager proceeded to kick us out, because the night before, without any warning, the telephone rang in our room and we were not consulted, just TOLD that our reservation was now @ 8 am. No manners, just an order. The manager was rude and angry when he found us, and made us feel as if we had crossed some imaginary line! Last I looked, hotels are there to serve their customers; had the manager been just straight forward or [god forbid] polite, I would have explained the situation - no chance of that. Nowhere have I ever felt more uncomfortable with the meager service and the unsolicited changes. There are many, many hotels in Fatima, as during holier days, they could be booked solid with no tents to rent, but this was not high season. I would imagine that many devout catholics would dream of such accommodations upon arrival, but we were just looking for a one-night visit. If ever you are in Fatima, beware of hyper-vigilant staff who seem to feel that they are doing us a huge favour by accepting our money and allowing us to eat. Wouldn't go back were they to send me the airfare and invite us back.
LLinda BThis hotel was absolutely fabulous. The location was perfect for all the Fatima religious experiences we wanted to attend. Staff was exceptionally helpful and professional. As Americans we were kind of in the dark - they helped us to navigate our stay wonderfully. Rooms were so comfortable and modern. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Prices were great! We couldn't have had a better stay and highly recommend this wonderful hotel!!!
GGuest UserSpent 5 days at this hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel itself was tidy and fresh and our room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was delicious and freshly served and was included as part of the package. The hotel is around a 10 to 15 minute walk from Our Lady of Fatima Sanctuary and only 5 minutes from the start of the Way of Cross. ALDI and other convenience stores are also nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to visit the sites of Fatima!
GGuest UserClean and neat hotel. Good place to rest and away from the hustle and rush of city. Superb breakfast spread. Great staff service. Reasonably priced. Can attend Mass daily as it just next to church. Near to a lot of eateries like gelato and yummy Pizza place ” PizzaMia” - hot and fresh pizza.
The average price for hotels in Fatima is NZD 157 on weekdays, and NZD 170 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
