We were staying in a local holiday cottage and the owners recommended the "PB". Turns out this was wise. Lovely food well cooked to a high standard. It was an informal atmosphere that made us feel welcome. The restaurant was quiet when we attended, so they put us in the bar area which was lively but not too noisy. If you have been out for a long walk, this is the place to treat yourself. We will be back if we come back to the area.

We stayed one night at the Punch Bowl inn, for bed and breakfast. We were welcomed and shown to our room, which was OK. The main drawback was no shower, just a hand held shower. This was OK for one night but any more would have been a pain. I probably should have checked this but just presumed there would be a shower. The room itself was fine- clean and traditionally decorated. The breakfast included was good with a varied choice and nice coffee. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but felt just over £200 was quite expensive (although that did include a dog) The food for dinner was really good, and staff were friendly. It was reasonably priced and we all enjoyed it. However, the only thing we didn’t like was that we sat in the bar area which was extremely bright. I usually like a cosy space.

We live fairly locally and gave passed the Punchbowl a few times but never stopped which was a mistake. Lovely venue, great staff and fabulous lunch (great chips!) Friends have also suggested we go back for Sunday lunch which we will. Amazing views of the Dale

Enjoyed a lovely meal and drink here. Friendly, helpful staff. The Smoked Salmon and Salmon fishcakes I can recommend although it was hard to choose from a very good menu. Lovely views to look at while dining. Well worth a visit. Did book a table Will be visiting again when on hols

We visited for dinner and it was really good. The food portions made us feel full and were extremely tasty. The staff were extremely polite and the food was delivered quickly. There is a great selection of real Ales from the long bar. Later in the evening there were some locals at the bar and it was very interesting to talk to them about the history of the valley. So, we felt very welcome indeed. Great place - highly recommend visiting certainly for food and drink.

Delicious food, friendly service. I had the pork chop with black pudding, mash and burnt apple puree. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Everyone on our table agreed the food was beautiful and well presented. Would visit again next time I’m in the local area.

We had the pleasure of a wonderful meal at this establishment. The food was first class, the service exemplary and the cost reasonable. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and any requests we had were met with a smile inspite of being busy. Well done and thank you to the staff. We highly recommend

Thank you to the kind staff at the Punch Bowl Inn who looked after us (Dad and two boys) after our car broke down nearby. A delicious meal, offers of a lift back to our holiday house and allowing us to stay in the warmth of the bar until the breakdown truck arrived near midnight. A lovely pub staffed by lovely people!
