Loar has three kinds of accommodation - hotel/suites in one building and apartments and studios is the adjoining building. The buildings are seamless on he ground floor but separate lifts service the two buildings. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which has a balcony big enough for two chairs so great for looking at the comings and goings of locals and their families and what was going on in the square. The 12 apartments have outward facing balconies whereas the studios face the rear. I think it is worth the extra cost to have an apartment as we spent a fair amount of time just enjoying the atmosphere of the town. I don't know about the hotel rooms as we much prefer the space of an apartment and the flexibility to cook our own meals and snacks. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The highlight was the roof terrace with views, loungers, lovely pool and jacuzzi. There is also an indoor heated pool which was a bit awkward to access as unless the restaurant was open the only way in was via a spiral fire escape. Being able to choose which pool you fancied was a real treat and we mostly had the roof terrace to ourselves. The town itself had no real must-sees for tourists but it was a convenient base to explore the island. Although Loar does not offer parking we always found a space within a few minutes' walk. There are enough places to eat and drink with three decent sized supermarkets, a butcher and fishmonger if you wanted to cook. The apartment facilities made this easy. It is quite surprising to have such a large establishment in an inland town but it seemed quite busy and the bar & restaurant were popular. I certainly recommend Loar and Ferreries. Staying in a central town worked well for us. Don't hesitate to stop at a cheese producer, signposted everywhere. Mahon cheese is excellent.

We only had the one night here as it was one of several hotels we used on the Cami de Cavalls which is a walking tour of the whole island First impressions were very good.. modern bright and airy and check-in was completed quickly with no fuss with a very nice receptionist who explained the hotel facilities such as the two swimming pools and how breakfast worked We had a studio apartment which was fine but may have proved a little cramped if staying for a week or two.. it was all spotlessly clean and a good standard The bathroom was the same, with the shower actually turning out to be the best so far. We did use the indoor pool which was fine so didn’t see the rooftop one as it was raining that day. Whilst we both agreed the apartment was lovely, as was the comfy bed, neither of us slept well due to the general noise going on throughout the night. This wasn’t helped with laminated floors in the corridors or the sizeable gap around the room door meaning any sound went straight through it. Breakfast was…. Ok , which is fine but suspect most may make their own if staying here a while.. we also ate in the bar for our evening meal which was good and fantastic value for money

This hotel is very centrally located on the island, making it especially desirable if renting a car and wanting to explore each region of the island as we did. With just a 10-30 minute drive you can easily access pretty much anywhere on the island. Parking was only available on side streets, but fairly easy to figure out and convenient. Bus service runs through town for those who don’t have access to a car. We stayed in a studio apartment (#103) which made our three week stay especially pleasant. The twin beds were adequate, though perhaps a bit on the hard side. The balcony overlooked an inner courtyard area with a view of the hills in the distance. The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, dish soap, cloths and more. The fridge/freezer worked great and allowed us to be prepared with frozen water bottles prior to each of our beach days and hiking treks. The bathroom was beautifully remodelled. Housekeeping staff kept the room impeccably clean and tidy each and every day. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi were lovely, with a spectacular view of the town and surrounding hills. Tables and loungers were available for use. The reception desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Maria Angeles, Fabian and Deri for your hospitality. They certainly set the tone for our stay with their friendly greetings upon our comings and goings and tourist tips. We were especially grateful to Deri (one of the owners) who graciously accommodated our late request for visiting friends to have a suite near us for their time with us. We ate a few times at the attached bar restaurant. Prices were very reasonable, with generous portions of delicious food. One of our favorite parts of this location was the opportunity to be at the center of a real town community rather than the seasonal tourist towns. Just steps away from the hotel was the town square with surrounding shops and restaurants, live music and dancing, a gelato shop and pastesserie. It was a unique and joyous experience to be able to soak in a different community and culture. We would not hesitate to return and we would highly recommend this hotel and location, especially to those who rent a car and want to explore. Loar Ferreries is a wonderful “home base” while on holidays!

Una delle migliori scelte fatte in termini di alloggio per le vacanze. Prezzo ottimo per il comfort ricevuto: appartamento con camera di giuste dimensioni, letto comodo, soggiorno con divano letto, tavolino, tv, tavolo rotondo perfetto per due persone ma anche per 3, mobile credenza utilissimo, cucina basica, dove però non mancava nulla, piastre ad induzione, frigo, microonde, piatti, pentole, strofinacci e detersivo per i piatti, con sufficienti spazi per preparare un pasto e per riporre spesa. Bagno spazioso, nuovo, vasca con tenda e doccia, asciugacapelli, tavolino, superfici di appoggio e ganci per asciugamani eccetera (preferisco queste funzionalità ad altri dettagli) e infine balconcino piccolino con due sedie, dove poter mettere lo stendibiancheria, ma il soggiorno è talmente ampio che si può tranquillamente tenere dentro la notte (era un pò umido in quei giorni) La cosa più importante? la pulizia: puntuale, ogni giorno perfetta, discreta e impeccabile. Ho chiesto qualche asciugamano in più e li ho avuti immediatamente. Un saluto alla bravissima ragazza delle pulizie. Cose migliorabili? Certo, è una soluzione economica e semplice per cui può senz'altro esserci qualcosa da migliorare, per esempio l'illuminazione, ma noi abbiamo dormito bene, ci è piaciuto preparare colazioni e anche molte cene. Noi il Loar l'abbiamo amato. ATTENZIONE: Il paese di Ferreries è tranquillo, ordinato, pulito e intimo. Gli anziani ti salutano e i bambini giocano per strada e in piazza. E' comodissimo per raggiungere qualsiasi spiaggia o località più vivaci per una cena o una serata più frizzante. La sera è silenzioso e tutto chiude presto, quindi sappiate che siete proiettati in un delizioso paesino un pò fermo nel tempo. Ma autentico e prezioso. Era quello che io cercavo, ma se cercate movida e turisti festanti, non fa per voi. ATTENZIONE 2: sì per parcheggiare bisogna girare e avere pazienza. Comunque a 500 mt c'è il parcheggio, zona acueducto e lì si trova. Tornerò sicuramente qui e spero di ritrovare tutto così autentico e non compromesso da un turismo a volte un pò invadente come in altre località.

verificato e prenotato on line durante l'inverno ; si è rivelata un'ottima scelta come punto di partenza dei ns tours quotidiani alla scoperta dell'isola. disponevamo di un piccolo appartamentino con 3 posti letto, bagno , salottino , cucina e anche terrazzo ! Location molto pulita , ristrutturata da qualche anno. Arredamento minimal ma perfetto per una location di mare. Colazione buona nel bar a piano terra. Abbiamo anche cenato una sera al loro ristorante, ma consiglio di optare per altre soluzioni. per il resto super consigliato .. per i servizi offerti e per il prezzo contenuto ! se dovessi tornare non avrei dubbi per prenotare qui

Apartamento correcto, las zonas comunes están muy bien y muy modernas, el apsrtame to a pesar de que se ha reformado se han quedado cosas bastante antiguas. Esta limpio y es cómodo. A pesar de que el personal de cafetería es atento, el desayuno es flojito. La atención en recepción es muy buena. No sé si es por la temporada pero es muy tranquilo

Abbiamo scelto questo hotel per la posizione, che è perfetta per girare l’isola, ma siamo rimasti sorpresi dai servizi che offre: dal bar al piano di sotto al ristorante che ha tante scelte e anche molto buone, dalle piscine pulitissime alla reception pronta a rispondere ad ogni domanda. Consigliato!
