We have stayed at the Baldi several times on the way to/from Italy. Conveniently sited just a few miles from the St Gotthard tunnel/pass, parking right outside, really nice staff and clean comfortable rooms. Excellent pizzas, an American couple at the next table were tucking into very tasty looking steaks. A cable car 5 minutes walk away goes up to a lake, great place to stretch your legs after a day in the car

We arrived early so enquired about lunch & went to look round the area until 12 noon then returned for lunch which was excellent. After lunch we were checked in early & shown to our room which was fine & told how to let ourselves out when we wanted to leave in the early hours.

After having tried a few other hotels in the area over the last 15 years, we've stayed at the Hotel Baldi many times when travelling between UK and Italy, and wouldn't stay anywhere else now. Its family-owned, immaculately kept, the rooms are simple but comfortable, the Bruno family are always welcoming and their food is excellent. The location is good - just south of the Gottard tunnel and it must be the best value hotel in Switzerland. There's also free parking next to the hotel.If you're looking for a place to stay for a few nights in Ticino I doubt you'll find anywhere better.

Family, very welcoming, village hotel, the rooms are well soundproofed. You can't hear the highway or the train, large parking lot, good and inexpensive home cooking. possibility of continental breakfast at 14CHF. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom is very clean and in perfect condition.

The cozy family hotel is beautifully situated in the Alps at an altitude of over 900 metres. It is located near the south entrance of the Gotthard tunnel, a few minutes from the A2. Ideal as an overnight hotel to/from Italy. Friendly and hospitable owners. Located in the Italian-speaking part with Italian cuisine (pizzas, pastas and cheese fondue). Basic hotel but room and bathroom clean and tidy. Breakfast is continental. Excellent price/quality ratio. Highly recommended!

Nice, small hotel with extremely clean rooms and bathrooms. The boss makes great pizza and is very friendly, as is all the (family) staff. Perfect for people passing through. Unfortunately, the village is otherwise pretty deserted, so the in-house terrace is a great advantage.

Welcomed at 9.30pm, practically outside service hours, there was no one in the room, two plates of pasta with meat sauce with n. two slices of bread served really quickly in five minutes, followed by a piece of cheese, half a jug of wine, water and a coffee. Average bill... €64. Highly recommended.
