A last minute booking due to our former accommodation letting us down. The hotel is located close to major attractions such as Secret Lagoon thermal pool, Gullfoss Falls, Geysir and the natural beauty of the surrounding area. We booked a superior room which was very comfy, had a 65" TV, coffee machine, kettle and shower room. The shower room had a back door opening out into the courtyard where a gorgeous seating area surrounded by basalt columns and secluded twin hot tubs with warm and very warm pools could be enjoyed...even though it was 1degree outside. The staff were fabulous and made us feel so welcome. The evening menu was limited but the food was lush and very well prepared and presented. The restaurant/bar area had numerous tables for dining as well as comfy seating area for a mid afternoon beer or wine. Nicely lit with a lovely ambience. For a brief few days stay, this place is thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here as a family for one night on our journey along the south coast of Iceland. The rooms were spacious and clean. There is a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel. They have two hot tubs in the middle of the hotel courtyard, which we enjoyed after dinner. Our only tip is to make sure that the radiator in the room is turned off in summer unless you really like the room to be toasty! We turned our off.

We arrived here early, and the hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early. The rooms a very large (compared to other Iceland hotels) and very comfortable. In the centre of the complex are two spa pools (if you don't have your own private pools) and they were simply relaxing and clean. After the relaxing spa, it was off to the bar and restaurant. The waiting staff made us feel really welcome, and the menu had a wide variety with different price points. The quality & quantity of the food was just right. I did find an unusual piece of decor amongst the pleasant art throughout. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautifully designed hotel in a great location for the Golden Circle. The beds were comfortable and the hot tubs were phenomenal after a day of adventure. We ate at the hotel and the food was delicious and priced fair for Iceland. Service was very slow - it took almost an hour to get our food even though everyone around us got theirs - even people who came in after us. The breakfast buffet was not as expansive as the ones we’d experienced at other Iceland hotels but was good. The waffles were delicious. One other nice thing was that the rooms had doors outside with a small patio.

Only one star because it’s not possible to give 0 stars. By far one of the WORST PLACES I’ve ever stayed in (and at a whopping $300 a night). The staff were rude and disrespectful upon arrival, the rooms smelt of sweat and fish despite us opening the windows, and the whole wouldn’t even drain, and water spilled out into the rest of the bathroom. Reached out for toilet paper and found a massive spider in the bathroom and noticed the same spiders all over the windows outside. Nothing felt clean and we were desperate to leave the hotel. With little to no food options in the remote area, we chose to eat breakfast at the hotel. There were a few standard options for food (toast, coffee, etc.) but we had to wait for them to restock almost everything which delayed us. Truly a terrible experience and I’d highly recommend travelers to find something else. Seriously - anything is better than this.
