This is an historic hotel that extends a generous and smiling sense of hospitality tradition to their host. While the rooms we had were simple, the breakfast was excellent, with a level of choice, abundance, and freshness I have rarely seen in a hoteL in northern Italy. The lady who runs the place is extremely kind and humble, honoring the tradition of hospitality of her grandparents. Most customers were, expectedly, returning guests. Forni Avoltri is the better alternative to Sappada, too fancy and chaotic. It has an exceptional museum and walks to keep any hiker entertained for a week or more. This hotel is also away from the main road, which is too busy with noisy and smelly trucks.
