There aren't many hotel choices in the Fort Stockton area, and even fewer choices that are pet friendly. We are normally Marriott loyalists, but the Fairfield Inn does not allow pets so we chose the Candlewood Suites by default. We have never stayed in the Candlewood Suite brand before, so we weren't sure what to expect. Wow! We were pleasantly surprised. Love love loved out experience The hotel appears in great shape and updated. The staff were friendly and professional. Room was clean, fresh smelling with a comfortable mattress. Frankly, the comfort of the room is comparable to the experience at high end hotels. Hotel is located right off I-10 and has complementary parking right at the front door. The hotel advertises ”no breakfast” but they offer complementary tea, coffee and oatmeal (sounds like a breakfast to me), but if that doesn't appeal to you, they have food items for sale in the cupboard that are VERY reasonably priced. If that still doesn't appeal to you there is a McDonalds within walking distance. If you are looking for fine dining, you're in Fort Stockton (good luck with that) Best part of the hotel? Complementary laundry facilities with working and up to date machines. I always travel with a roll of quarters and I have never seen a hotel offer complementary laundry facilities. Pet fee is a very reasonable $35 for the stay. There is a grassy area behind the hotel for pet relief. Could be bigger, but beggars can't be choosers. We stayed here to visit Big Bend National Park. There are closer hotels, but we are glad we chose this location. In summary.... love love love this hotel. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Kudos to management.
