What a sad little place. From the neglected vines near the driveway to the cheap appliances in the accomodation it was not what I wanted to show my international traveller friends about Tasmania. A restaurant that is not open for dinner, no reception or after hours service if you arrive after 4pm. Concertina sliding doors that can't be shut properly to soap dispensers in the shower not filled up there was a lack of care feeling thru the whole enterprise. It does not tempt me to even try the wine, beer or whisky produced on the same property. Service like Tasmania thirty years ago.

Strange place. Combined accommodation resort and distillery. In a magnificent part of Tasmania. We needed accommodation on the east coast of Tas and it was pretty competitive with Airbnb. Big place with lots of identialcal free standing units. All very basic built on the cheap. But ok. Unfortunately we were there at a weekend and most of the place was shut. Poor eating options, bar and wine section very limited and then the absolute killer blow. My partner ordered a cocktail flight (a special of the day) and the bartender explained she didn't add the garnishes to make it easier to drink. What? Weird plus plus plus. Essentially fizzy wine with fruit juice add in a wine glass. Awful is being generous. Won't be going back.

The accommodation at the resort is first class. We stayed in a two bed unit with a full functioning kitchen. Lovely views out to sea. Nicely warmed up prior to our arrival. The only downside to our weekend was the meal we had in the Slightly Salty Restaurant which is on-site but under different management. There were only two vegetarian meals on the menu. My husband ordered gnocchi in a pumpkin puree for his main meal. We were disgusted when his meal consisted of only six pieces of gnocchi. Being vegetarian means we don't eat meat... Not that we DON'T EAT. It was disappointing to leave the restaurant still hungry. We will certainly return to White Sands Resort but not to Slightly Salty. There is no need with such excellent self catering units available.

WOW, Iron House provides excellent accommodation for all budgets, facilities are excellent/first class. Multiple dinning opportunities, offering superb culinary choices and seating locations with gorgeous vistas. Access to the white sandy beaches, surf breaks, boat ramp and more. Sea eagles and fairy wrens abound. The pool, cinema and activity rooms keep the whole family entertained. WOW, Tasy turns it on!

Loved our stay. Cabins were spotless and had everything we needed, including a bar fridge. Loved tastings at the Brewery and our swims in the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative was management allowing campers access to the pool, which ruined it for us house guests as it became crazy crowded and dirty.

We went there for an impromptu lunch. Had the most delicious meal. The menu was varied and excellent. There were so many meals on offer which I could have enjoyed. (I sometimes struggle to find one meal that I like, at other restaurants.) Prices were good. The service was superb. The staff were helpful and friendly. The building itself is very classy. Clean lines and the place is spotless. Spoke to the brewer from Ironhouse Brewery (which is inside the main building). That was something worth seeing (through all the glass walls.) Overall, most impressive and highly recommended.
