Our second visit to this fabulous hotel. Not a thing is left out here, every single detail is thought of and taken care of by Declan and his fantastic team. We had said we never like to go back in case something isn’t as good but this was even better than before. We loved every minute and will most certainly be booking again sometime in the hopefully not too distant future. This is truly a place to come and feel relaxed and at home the second you arrive.

Our second visit to Akademie Street Boutique Hotel in Franschhoek - Declan and the team so impressed us on our first visit that we knew we would return. The attention to detail is excellent and nothing is too much trouble with some lovely touches. The general atmosphere is calm, elegant and efficient and the staff are professional and friendly. We will definitely return and another plus is the close proximity to the shops, restaurants etc although set back two streets so lovely and quiet too.

We had a perfect stay thanks to Declan an his team who looked so well after us. The breakfast was simply gorgeous and through the whole day Declan or a member of his team was present to arrange things and to care about us. When we will come back to Franschoek the Akademie Street will be the first option on the list of places to stay.

Wow! This boutique hotel has thought of every detail. From helping us arrange our wine tour through Stellenbosch (Jordan winery picnics 10/10) to the amenities throughout, we didn’t want to leave. The hotel, the food, the staff and our room were just perfect! 100% recommend a stay here!

A beautiful, cozy and tranquil spot in the middle of wine country, it just doesn't get any better than Akademie. The staff are all so welcoming and helpful, the decor and design of the space is transportive and the mood is positive and relaxing. Stayed with my brother in a cottage with a private swimming pool and patio. The scenery puts you at ease and makes you want to just relax and enjoy. Wish we could've stayed longer! Cannot recommend this property highly enough.

This place is spectacular. Arrived to the most friendly host with a larger than life personality, who gave us the grand tour and made us feel right at home. The decor and attention to detail gave the place a very cozy feeling, while also being very cool, and every room had it's own personality. Our room had all we needed, including free alcohol in the mini bar. Our friends got all fancy and had a bigger room with it's own pool, hot tub, and a separate living room. We were quite jealous because it was spectacular, so definitely worth the extra money. The breakfasts were really delicious and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. My sausage and eggs husband became a granola convert and asked for their homemade recipe. One morning breakfast was served poolside, and the other mornings we ate in this cool atrium full of plants.One night we went to their happy hour and asked if they had vodka. Not only did they pull out the secret stash, but they made us the most unique cocktail with fresh fruit. If I'm ever up for the 25 hours it takes to get to South Africa again, we'll definitely stay here.

We had an amazing stay again. The staff are so attentive and friendly. Will be returning soon. The rooms are fabulous and so comfortable. I love all the interesting decor. The pool and outside area is very relaxing. Loved the piano in the orangey in the evening. Thank you Declan and your fabulous team.

Another wonderful stay at this perfect hotel. This really is a luxury home from home experience from the welcoming staff to the delicious breakfasts everything is of the highest quality. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, the main pool area is a delightful place to relax and The Orangery is the perfect place for a drink or two in the evening before heading out to one of the many, nearby restaurants.
