Allegheny Trail House

We stayed at the Trail House for our anniversary as a wonderful waypoint on our route to Baltimore and the BnB experience fully lived up to the reputation! The location is wonderful and if the weather had not been freezing sleet, would have been an EZ walk to the wonderful rich downtown. (drove down and enjoyed a great meal at the Toasted goat & explored the awesome Main Street Books!) The house is beautiful, classic but inviting and homey and very well maintained. We stayed in the Dixon room, which was charming, well maintained and very comfortable after a day on the road. The bed was firm but comfy with awesome pillows. We could hear other lodgers were around but not anything intrusive. Jason went above and beyond to be flexible with our cheeseboard timing, bring up an absolutely delicious and healthful breakfast (coffee was so good!) and handled with grace our oopsie on giving him the wrong Card (which other BnB owners would not have been as kind about). Jason and his better half made us feel very at home, as well as their cool doggo. Weather rattled our shutters, but it was a mighty gusty storm so that is to be expected!! As the book store owner in town said, "Jason runs a great place!"

Way beyond expectations! Very well appointed & comfortable accommodations, perfect location for both cyclists and “regular” travelers, delicious breakfast, knowledgeable host, I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and book a room here, Jason is a fantastic host.

Enjoyable stay. There were a few challenges. For those riding bikes on the GAP trail, the trail house is in town, and not directly adjacent to the trail. Once there, it was a bit difficult to get our heavy e-bikes down the hill in the backyard and into the crowded storage shed for bikes.

We arrived at the B&B about 5:30, after our longest day on the trail (75 miles), and the climb from Cumberland. Jason was extremely helpful in getting us settled and in providing suggestions for dinner at local restaurants as well as specific directions to get to them. Breakfast the next morning was great, and got us out the door and back on the trail earlier than usual. The house is beautiful, and the room I stayed in was great; best nights sleep I had the whole trip.

We did not stay at this BNB however we hiked up to Frostburg to check it out as Jason was our contact. He was knowledgeable and helpful from start to finish. He shuttled us -on time - from Cumberland to Pittsburg . He gave helpful tips in the planning process. Highly recommended!

Frostburg was the halfway point to meet some friends. We stayed at the Allegheny Trail House for 3 nights. What better place to stay than in such a beautiful and historical home. The house was clean and located close to downtown so most most restaurants were within walking distance. Jason is a fabulous host and a wealth of information. When we told restaurants in other towns where we were staying we found that everyone know him and speaks very highly of his business. One day we chose ride our bikes on the GAP trail. Jason provided transportation to Meyersdale to start our ride and picked us up 32 miles down the trail in Cumberland. The price was reasonable compared to other B&Bs. We would happily stay here again.
