HOTEL KOHAKUEN

The building has a nice atmosphere and is Japanese style, but the rooms are clean. The toilets in the rooms were also new. There was also a hot spring on the top floor, which was nice. I wasn't able to use it, but there was also a lounge on the top floor where you could drink wine, which looked nice.

It was a good stay at this hot spring hotel for the first time.

The Gubaiyuan Hotel in Shihe Hot Spring Township has an elegant environment, good hot spring quality, good attitude of the waiters, and comfortable and large rooms. You can see the Southern Alps, and the breakfast is delicious. It is a good hot spring hotel.

I really liked how small and quiet it was.

I stayed with my mother, with breakfast and dinner included. The dinner was excellent. It was a course meal, so the portions were large for me, who eats little, but everything was delicious and I ended up eating everything. The dining area was a large semi-private room, so I was able to enjoy a leisurely conversation. The timing of the tray down was just right. Breakfast was a buffet, and although there wasn't a lot of food, it was just right considering that we had a lot of dinner, and I personally thought the food and balance were good. The room was renovated, but the bathroom (I didn't use the bath because I went to take a bath in the hot spring) was probably the same as it was before. The twin room I stayed in had a low bed and a small table and chair. The table could be a little bigger, but the room felt spacious. It's a Japanese-Western style room, so you take off your shoes at the entrance and spend the time there just like you would in a tatami room. The TV is large and you can watch subscriptions. There was iced water in a pot, which was a nice service, but when you travel abroad all the time, you start to worry about whether the water is new and you can't drink it. I don't want to think like this, but with the recent overtourism, I feel that bottled water is safer. It was unfortunate that the room door opened inwards, making it inconvenient to take off and put on shoes. We were only able to use one of the hot springs, but it was a good size and the open-air bath was nice. It was also nice that they provided lemon water and popsicles when you exited. I had planned to use the lounge, but it seems that you have to buy a prepaid wine card at the front desk, which was a bit of a hassle, so I ended up not using it. It would be nice if there was something like a ticket machine... I stayed here before, about 20 years ago, and while there was still some nostalgia from back then, there were also some new things, and I would like to come and stay again with my mother.
