Hotel Mainare Playa

Stayed here with our 5 children (age 5 months - 11 years) and the staff were brilliant, plenty in the hotel and locally for us to do and keep the kids entertained. The staff were amazing with the local power outage and helped us with physical cash due to the atm machines not working so we could get food. Would 100% recommend Beds were comfy and air conditioning was working, the pools were chilly but it didn’t stop the kids

We are 3 ladies who wanted nice hotel to spend an extended weekend at and this hotel did not disappoint. I needed to email before we went to ask if there was a fridge in the room and they came back to me within 20 minutes saying there was. We arrived the early hours of the morning and couldnt have had a nicer welcome from the gentleman on the desk. The room was very clean and it was a tripple room overlooking the pool with towels for all of us and a bottle of water each for us. Beds were extremely comfy and the room was spacious. The room was cleaned every day and the domestuc staff were very friendly. The lady on reception was exceptionally helpful, always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We had bed and breskfast and if it wasnt for the breakfast i would have given the hotel 5 stars. The staff in the dining area worked really hard and were very pleasant, and the breakfast had lots to choose from but was quite basic. Fruit and bread were lovely, just the hot stuff that let it down, luke warm and not much choice for non meat eaters. The hotel is literally 5 minutes from the beach and an easy stroll onto the promenade. All in all a great holiday thank you to all the staff.

Pros: Staff are very professional and friendly Very central location with loads of amenities and beach nearby Spacious room with beautiful side sea views (front facing not so nice) Air conditioning fabulous Very clean throughout Shower pressure excellent Cons: Not enough drawer space (easy fix are the rooms are very spacious) Recently refurbished, however TV isn't a smart TV and has 2 channels that are only occasionally British speaking Bed linen changed once which was the day before our weeks departure €1 for a small plastic cup of ice to take to our room - Never been asked to pay for ice in a Hotel anywhere in the World €3 for a small plastic cup of draught diet coke full with ice Not Hotels issue: However really impacted our stay: Located on a very busy dual carriage way - Motorbikes racing down the long straight road. Unpleasant to sit on balcony of an evening and this issue kept us awake during the night. Hotel next door - Right adjacent to our swimming pool area had a pneumatic drill drilling all day from Monday to Friday. Couldn't stand listening to this and we opted to go to the nearby beach - €14 for 2 sun beds over 5 days!! An expense we didn't budget for!

Just returned from a 10 day holiday at the Mainare Playa. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was very spacious and very clean. Only had breakfast but this was lovely, hot and cold dishes, fruit, cake and cereals, lovely being able to sit out in the the sunshine whilst eating. Only compliant was the hotel states that it is a smoke free hotel but ashtrays were placed on the window ledge of the outside eating area and also the outside snack area, people took this as an area to smoke but when you are eating it was not very pleasant, Signs need to be placed in these areas and ashtrays removed if the want to continue to be a smoke free hotel Beach across the road with a fair selection of bars and cafes, beach was lovely. Really enjoyed our stay, would return to this hotel again and recommend it to others

Just got home from 10 nights here. Emailed ahead to request a high floor sea view room. That's exactly what I got - room 905 - with fabulous sunrise views too. Yes the hotel is on a busy main road but with the balcony door closed it didn't affect us at all. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the receptionist and given a lot of helpful information. The bedroom was huge, modern, spotlessly clean and well furnished. We had to ask for a kettle and more hangers and these were delivered to the room immediately. The safe costs 3 euros a day. The bathroom was modern with 2 sinks and a walk in shower. Towels changed every day. Bedding changed a few times a week. All the staff were lovely, friendly and worked very hard. We were booked in for dinner, bed & breakfast. Most people were booked in for either room only or bed & breakfast. Breakfast was lovely with everything you'd expect. The only downside to the hotel was the choice/quality of buffet food in the evenings and the lack of restaurant atmosphere. However, if only a few guests are booked for DBB I can understand how the hotel has to limit what it offers. There was always something we could find to eat but the food definitely wasnt 4*. On one night, from 7.50pm until just before it closed at 9pm, we were literally the only 2 people in the restaurant! Overall we had a lovely stay and would stay here again but only for bed & breakfast.

just returned back from a week here. the stay was pleasant enough. the hotel has a good location, a very short walk from the beach. we booked a room with a sea view which was the only mistake, the beach view rooms are on a very busy road so it was very noisy. the staff were very friendly. seemed a little short staffed but being from a hospitality background I know this is the case in every tourist region. we booked room only but popped our heads into the breakfast restaurant and it looked nice so we decided to pay a few days to eat breakfast there. very nice and very reasonable. the drinks at the bar were also very reasonable 8 euro for a bottle of wine 4 euro for a large vodka coke. being from a tourist place that is very expensive this was a lot less than we are use too.
