Tui Blue Gardens - Adults-Only - Savoy Signature

Another excellent visit to Madeira Gardens. We had a comfortable room on the sixth floor with Mountain View. We slept very well and the room had all we needed for our 10 day visit. The staff at the hotel all work hard and all were pleasant and cheerful. Dining room staff, bar staff and reception staff were all very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed all our meals and the entertainment on an evening was enjoyable. We made good use of the facilities; swimming in the outdoor pool which was quite cool but fine once you were in. We used the gym and swam in the indoor pool which lovely and warm. The roof top terrace is an ideal place to admire the views and soak up the sun. We didn’t use the jacuzzi but other people seemed to be enjoying it. The TUI reps and activities reps all worked hard and we enjoyed the company and activities run by Magda and Dominic. They were very enthusiastic and seemed to really enjoy joining in the activities with the guests. Please read the hotel description carefully. It is a steep climb to get to the hotel. We knew this before travelling and it didn’t present us with any problems. You can easily make use of taxis and local buses if the hill proves to be a problem. Madeira itself is a beautiful place to visit and we enjoyed our day walking the levadas and also our jeep safari. There is no shortage of things to do and I would recommend that guests make the effort to get out and explore the island.

Would absolutely recommend this hotel. Staff were all great , helpful, friendly, happy and all spoke fairly good English! Sonia the entertainment rep was fabulous! She had a great sense of humour and interacted with the guests all the time! Food was lovely, plenty of choice. We had a sea view room on the first floor. It was lovely, plenty of room and very large comfortable bed! Yes wardrobes were a little dated, but does that really matter? Entertainment in the evening was good, usually singers. The rooftop setting was great. The silent disco was fantastic!!! Got alot of us up dancing and we all said it was one of the best nights!! Gene, the tui rep was fab and very knowledgeable and you felt like you could ask him anything you were unsure of. Yes it's up a steep hill, but most places are in Madeira! The views make it worth the effort! Plenty of sunbeds, never had an issue finding a couple. Pool was cool but fine once in!! We will most definitely be returning to Madeira and this hotel. I just hope it's as good next time we visit!!

The staff were incredible and made our stay!!! Luis was especially fantastic!! And his lovely wife Evon, certainly the most accommodating hotel we have been in!!! Absolutely 10 out of 10. The hotel was immaculate and the entertainment great fun, Thankyou all.!!! Neil and lisa Murphy

Arrived on Christmas Eve. Half board. Transfers from and to airport are short and efficient. Greeted with a glass of prosecco and rushed to room before attending cocktail hour and gala dinner. No vegetarian canapes with the cocktail. A very watery chick pea curry as vegetarian main course for the Gala. The room was fantastic - in the new building - spacious, great bed and shower, terrace with access to a large sun terrace with loungers. Indeed, the hotel's environment generally was very pleasant. Entertainment every night in the restaurant bar (good) and the downstairs bar (of varying quality). There was an indoor pool, steam room and sauna which were welcome, but the sauna was often not working. The staff were pleasant. The real disappointment was the food. It was buffet style (there was an a la carte but other guests told us is it was the same food). Breakfast and salads at dinner were fine. However, 13 euros for some leaves and a few walnuts for lunch in the pool bar was a rip-off. The hotel advertises that it caters for vegetarians and there was indeed a vegetarian and a vegan option every night. These were mostly watery stews with over cooked vegetables - one night, rotten potatoes that were inedible. Another night, one of a couple sitting next to us, who also happened to be vegetarian, found a large, live slug in her salad! Management gave her a bottle of wine to compensate but I think the damage, both for them and us, had already been done! There was no dry white available, which is strange because I really like the Portugese Vinho Verde. The chefs need some training in tasty vegetarian/vegan cooking. It was a half hour walk to the town but we didn't mind this. Funchal is very touristy, with large cruise ships docking in the harbour.

My wife and I stayed at the TUI Blue Madeira (Savoy) Gardens for 1 week. We opted for the sea view room, which in our opinion is worth the extra outlay. We have no complaints. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the décor is very good quality throughout. All staff are amazing and made our holiday extra special. We spoke to many other guests most of whom were repeat customers, which speaks volumes of this place. The facilities, which include a Jacuzzi and an indoor pool are perfect for just chilling or if you need to recoup after a day walking the landscape of Madeira. There are ample sunbeds as well - meaning nobody does a sunrise dash to reserve them. The food was plentiful and to our personal taste. The opening times for both breakfast and evening meals had a three-hour window ensuring the restaurant never gets too busy. The à la carte restaurant is included for those on a HB basis and is a sit-down affair. Note: This must be pre-booked at reception and has a specific time slot. The Animation team lead by the wonderful Santa kept us entertained throughout each day by hosting different games and activities. We particularly liked the Wine tasting class, quizzes and the darts. They also have evening entertainment, which ranges from a pianist to local dances to a New Year’s Eve disco. If we returned to this beautiful island, we would definitely stop at this hotel again.

We are returning customers of many years and once again the hotel did not disappoint, food at both breakfast and evening meal excellent as always, staff in all areas very welcoming, as always we had a great holiday in this lovely hotel and look forward to returning next year, thank you Madeira Gardens.
