Only came in for dinner because most of the restaurants in the area are closed on Monday (and Tuesday) outside the holiday season. Limited menu, but friendly service and the food was alright. A simple tomato soup and scampi and chips. And an excellent IPA on draught. Around £30 to £35 for appetizer, main and a drink. In this remote area of the world with limited options this is considered reasonable.

Staff ignored us and when she did speak she was curt and extremely dismissive to the point that I wanted to walk out there and then. The young blonde member of staff had no pleasantries of manner about her at all The he older chap in the bar just didn't speak or acknowledge us at all and simply turned his back on us and walked off. I will not be going back to this place any time soon and could not possibly recommend it to anyone.

Location great, food great, plenty to do around the village, if you wanted to walk, fish, or just relax. Breakfast was a full selection of whatever you wanted. Evening meals had a good atmosphere. Staff were helpful and friendly. Wallpaper was a bit dodgy though.

I travelled in scotland by motorbike from Italy and after visiting hebrides and the Isle of Skye I found this place searching it in the web in order to stay in a baricenter spot to continue my journey . it has been a pleasure to stay here: lovely places and people, good atmosphere, nice restaurant and food! I suggest to stay here!

Although the pictures look ok the actual state of the premises is a bit worn. We had a family room with a bunk bed and bathroom. Beds were not comfy and windows were locked and could not open (maybe because off safety small children?). We were informed upfront by email that the hotel is understaffed so that explains there were no towels in the room upon arrival. This was quickly resolved by the bartender after mentioning. Bar and food were ok. Breakfast was pre-order by form the night before again because of staff shortage and was a bit limitary.

A genuine Scottish Inn with good rooms, a good pub/bar and an excellent dining experience. We could definitely not ask for anything more. Everybody in our company was satisfied with this stay and would love to come back some day in the future.

At first the staff appeared to be not as friendly as we would expect. It was very busy in the bar/restaurant and we hadn’t booked but they accommodated us. We had a lovely meal of venison burger, monkfish scampi and a kids burger. Food was delicious and came rather quickly considering how busy it was. We left feeling very satisfied.

My husband and I were staying at the Old Inn for the second time and it feels like coming home with the superfriendly staff. We had dinner on our first night: a seafood platter and venison for my husband and it was fabulous, very generously sized helpings with food straight from the sea. We have 2 dogs, and this is a place you can instantly relax with them as everything is homely rather than luxery decor. Step outside and there are the most beautiful walks on your doorstep: by the river, sea, forest and even a waterfall.
