Jetwing Saman Villas, A Luxury Reserve - Adults Only

Everywhere you turn in this hotel there are stunning views of the surrounding beach and sea. We were surprised to find we got our own butler for our stay. You are given a small mobile phone to contact them for anything at all you may need. Our Butler, Niroshan, was amazing and was always there to greet us when we went for breakfast and dinner. He even set up our floating breakfast in the pool which was beautiful! The villa was really spacious and had all the amenities you could want for your stay. We stayed in a few different locations in Sri Lanka and Jetwing was the only place where the air conditioning actually kept the room sufficiently cool in the heat and humidity! There is access to both beaches either side with security making us feel extra safe. The beaches were both amazing and very quiet, often only another couple or 2 to share them with. We were here for my birthday and they had decorated the bed and gave us a cake at dinner which was much appreciated!

Actual rating 4.5 We visited this property in Jan 2023 and loved the experience, so we decided to visit again. This review is on the second visit. This boutique hotel is situated on a slightly rocky outcrop giving it a different vibe from a typical beach hotel and offering spectacular views. The rooms are more like villas, with an outside veranda, a living cum bed room and a spacious bathroom. My favorite part was the tub with the semi open roof. (But was not a fan of the small step separating each area as it was difficult to get used to on a short visit). They have a nice looking spa where we got a 15 minute complimentary foot massage and a lovely pool. There are two large stretches of clean public beaches on either side of the property. The dining area too is quite spacious. The dinner was a set menu. The appetizer and the soup was rather ordinary. The mains were pretty good though. But there was about a 30 minute gap between each course which was surprsing considering it was a set menu with 3-4 options. The real let down were the cocktails which were quite watery. The breakfast we had on our previous visit was one of the best we've had anywhere. There were only two choices, local or western but there was a whole series of dishes under each option and the flavors were spot on. This time, while the spread was still the same massive spread and the food was good, the flavors didn't come up to the high standards set last time. The staff were very young, very pleasant and very enthusiastic. But we missed the subtle professionalism of the more senior staff we met last time. All in all it was a rather pleasant and relaxing experience. We would have given it 5 stars if not for the very high bar set on our previous visit.

Amazing stay at the Saman Villas! Quiet, private and well appointed. Great Food and fantastic service! View and the beach was put of this world! The staff were always smiling and obliging .. if it was not on the menu, they would still make it for you. They even made a cocktail on our request off the menu. We will definitely be back!

A pristine, uplifting setting, with a dramatic ocean outlook with a choice of two beaches on one’s doorstep. There is a friendly, attentive and unobtrusive ambience. The cuisine is exceptional and varied with a local twist. The overall experience is enhancing to the senses and quite restorative.

What a beautiful hotel in a stunning setting! Our stay was made even more special with the help of Dulara our butler. He was extremely courteous, attentive and friendly and looked after us superbly. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting some luxurious peace and quiet. Thank you to all the staff but especially to the chef who cooked us delicious meals and to Dulara who is a huge asset to Jetwings! We will come again

Returned after 7 years and better than ever. The hotel is spotlessly clean, very well maintained and very luxurious. The upgrades to the rooms bring possibly the best ever bathrooms and very chic interiors. What makes the hotel are the staff, without exception you are greeted with a genuine smile and good morning. The gardners, the pool men and the resturant staff could not be more willing or helpful. Yes it's quite expensive but worth every penny. The food and service is to die for, great variety be it western or Sri Lankan. Our butler Sanath has been a treasure and looked after us extremely well. My wife wants to take him home. We will return again as it is one of our favourite spots in the world. Treat yourselves life's too short not to
