This was a perfect location to visit some of the beautiful towns in this Tuscany region. We visited Volterra and San Gigimano and when we wanted to go further afield like Siena and Florence we drove to the local station and took the train which is a so easy and cheap way to travel. The accommodation was amazing with the most incredible views from the pool and apartments. So relaxing. The owners/staff are so friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were lovely and not short on choice. A couple of evenings a week dinner was offered which was equally as good. On nice days the meals are served on the terrace with views over the incredible infinity pool towards the countryside. Our only slight niggle was that the kitchenette could have been slightly better equipped with things like sharp knives and a better cork screw 😊.

Every time we stay here it's amazing! The first time we stayed here was - as a couple - 16 years ago and it's still one of my favorite places in the world! This is our 5th visit. Now we are here back again with our 11 year old daughter. This time we have booked the Junior Superior Suite. In earlier trips we stayed in a different room or one of the appartments with friends or family. They offer for example 4 or 6 persons appartments. But this room was perfect for our little family! The owners are truly lovely, amazing and kind warm people. The service is perfect! Located between Volterra and San Gimigano this is a perfect location! With beautiful views from the infinity pool on the hills. On one of them you will have a view of Volterra. Il Defizio offers a delicious breakfast with lots of options, lunch and 2x per week you can enjoy an amazing dinner! These dinners you definitely do not want to skip! Within 15 minutes drive by car, supermarkets and shops are available. Il Defizio can advise you on the local restaurants nearby or in other towns. Definitely would recommend to spend your holiday here! Super romantic and also perfect for a visit with family or friends.

We only had one night here, but wish we had more. Amazing views from by the pool, and the hotel is very clean and modern. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting an excellent restaurant which we visited nearby. Would love to visit again for a few more nights!

Un séjour parfait à Il Defizio. Accueil chaleureux, attentionné et bienveillant. Andrea, Antonio, Cristina et Roberta sont toujours disponibles pour rendre service et contribuer à notre bien-être. Les chambres sont confortables, l’ensemble de la propriété très bien tenu, une vue extraordinaire, la restauration est de très bonne qualité. Nous sons pu apprécier le diner et un lunch sur le pouce préparé sur mesure à 16h de l’après-midi. Formidable! Nous recommandons absolument et y retournerons sans hésiter.

È stato davvero piacevole e rilassante soggiornare in questa luogo. Tutto perfetto: ospitalità, gentilezza, buon cibo. Da consigliare a chi cerca pace e umanità al di fuori della vita quotidiana. Persone speciali, luogo incantevole, colazioni ottime e abbondanti, cene sulla terrazza vista piscina a sfioro. Peccato dover tornare alla realtà !

Très déçue pour un 4 étoiles… Points négatifs : petit déjeuner très basique, snack moyen (pizza surgelée, sandwich industriel), tous les « à côté » sont très chers (1,5€ les petites bouteilles d’eau, serviette pour la piscine en extra), chambre mal isolée (on entendait la famille du dessus), salle de bain non pratique avec une baignoire qui glisse malgré le tapis de bain (tapis qui empêche l’évacuation de l’eau), piscine pas propre (pansements au bord de l’eau pendant notre séjour, fond de la piscine non nettoyé) mais surtout un problème de clientèle. On ne peut pas mélanger des couples et autant de familles. Les 2 jours étaient extrêmement bruyants et pas du tout reposants… Points positifs : chambre confortable (y compris la literie), climatisation qui fonctionne bien, très bon wifi, piscine très grande à débordement avec une magnifique vue, flexibilité pour le check-in et check-out.

Ein wundervolles Agriturismo mit sehr schöner Aussicht. Die Apartments und Ferienwohnungen sind in alten, renovierten Gebäuden untergebracht. Top ist der 25 Meter Pool. Die Betreiber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. 2 mal in der Woche kann man zu Abend essen, ansonsten gibt es eine Bar.
