Firstly, I would like to say how much we enjoyed our two nights in Room 2. We were welcomed warmly, and the room was very comfortable, and both the room and the spotless bathroom had opening windows - a rarity in contemporary hotels. Secondly, luckily, the sun was out and I enjoyed a delicious beer on the decking in the beer garden. Thirdly, our food was truly delicious with very generous portions, in fact sometimes too generous and always prepared perfectly. The breakfasts, especially, were very tasty and cooked just the way we liked them. and the servers always helpful and polite. All in all, a most enjoyable break, and we shall certainly be returning.

If you ever get to Gatehouse of Fleet, and it's a great place to get to, you should consider staying at The Ship Inn. Our room was a very good size with everything to a high standard making it very comfortable. We received a warm welcome and the staff were always helpful. We found plenty to choose from on the menu in the restaurant in the evening and had a very enjoyable meal. It's very popular and so can get busy, even mid-week, so it's probably best to book before arrival. Breakfast was excellent too. It's not cheap, the room or the restaurant, but it's good, and it is also pet-friendly (for a charge!)

Visiting for a friends wedding at the nearby GG's Yard, we booked into the Ship Inn for a couple of nights. On arrival we were met by very friendly reception staff. After checking in, we went up to our room, located on the first floor overlooking the front door onto the street. The room was very well apportioned with a modern bathroom. All aspects of the hotel were clean as it looked as though a recent refurbishment had taken place. We had breakfast in the dinning room on both mornings and the breakfasts were excellent with a good selection. On checking out, we were asked by the reception staff if we required assistance with our bags, something you don't here very often. Thanks for an enjoyable stay

I stayed here for three nights and it was a great experience. The room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was excellent and I also ate in the restaurant on two occasions and the food was delicious. The only potential problem is the popularity of the restaurant, meaning you absolutely have to book a table in advance. Gatehouse of Fleet itself is a nice little place to stay, with several good walks to explore, but easy to access via the nearby A75. The scenery in the area is spectacular.

We stayed at the ship hotel for four nights. what a fantastic hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The food was first class and not overly priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful Thank you all at The Ship for making us very welcome 👍👍👍

Popped in for lunch today , from the service to the gorgeous food was a brilliant experience, would definitely recommend, everywhere was spotlessly clean , my partner had steak pie and it was a proper steak pie!! Bottom and top!! I had steak baguette which was so tasty , !!

The restaurant was pretty average, the service a bit of a letdown. 3 of our 4 main nears arrived at the same time the 4th was another 5 minute wait. The same with our desserts, when 2 arrived, and again a 3 or 4 minute wait for the other 2. To top it off our teas and coffees arrived just as we had started our desserts. I had a nice curry, my wife's beef was tough.
