The overall experience was very satisfactory. There was also a Mandarin-speaking waiter who arranged for us from Hong Kong, and the communication was smooth. There is no shuttle bus at the location, but it takes more than ten minutes to walk from the JR station. If the luggage is not heavy, it is not too far. The hotel is beautiful, with a souvenir shop at the entrance and a hot spring pool for footbaths. On the seventh floor are separate hot spring pools for men and women, with an open-air pool. The male soup faces the direction of the station and you can see different scenery in the morning and evening. The female hot spring bath has great privacy, but no scenery. It seems that you can book private bathing for men and women, but we didn't have time to try it this time. The room is large and you can choose to make the bed. It's no problem for four people, but this time it was just my girlfriend and me. The view of the creek outside the room is particularly beautiful at night, but it is very light in the morning. It is recommended to bring your own eye mask to sleep late. There was a special event on Saturday, with many performances and stalls, and it was very atmospheric. Finally, there are meals, breakfast and dinner are not to be missed and can be enjoyed at a few designated times. We stayed for two nights and had different menus for both days. The dishes include the signature Hida beef and fish sashimi, but the cooking methods are different. It was very enjoyable. It is recommended that you do not need to change hotels for two nights.

This was my first time staying at a hotel located in Gero Onsen. The cherry blossoms on the Hida River were in full bloom, and the view from the Japanese-style room with a wide veranda was great. Dinner is served in the room. Salmon and tuna sashimi, Hida beef roast and Hoba miso were delicious. Breakfast is served in a recently refurbished dining room. There are various types of large public baths, including an indoor bath, a Mino stone open-air bath, and a rooftop cypress open-air bath. It feels slimy and warms the body. I was able to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms, the delicious evening and breakfast, and the hot springs that warmed my body and soul.

It is conveniently located along the river. There is a dedicated parking lot not on the premises but a little further away. If you go up the road between the parking lot and the main building, there is a souvenir street, which is convenient. The facilities themselves are quite old, but everything was well maintained and I was able to use it without any complaints. Mr. Nakai was a young and cute person from Myanmar and I had a good impression. Most of the other staff seemed to be foreigners, but they are not dissatisfied and their language is pretty solid. The relatively steep aluminum stairs in the large public bath are a bit scary, but the view from the open-air bath is nice. There are 6 bathtubs for one person in the open-air bath that is replaced the next day? (I think it was). The only thing I'm worried about is that the amount of each faucet is small and the water pressure is low. You have to press 4 to 5 times to fill the bucket, and the water pressure in the shower was not enough for me, who likes strong water pressure. The food was strangely abundant and did not look luxurious, and the seasoning was good and satisfying. Overall I am satisfied.
