Nice hotel and good experience in Gero. The hotel does not have too many facilities but hot spring is ok. Location is right next to the station, very convenient.

The stay in Mutsumikan was very good. The Hotel (Ryokan) is very close to the train station. To the center of Gero it takes roundabout 5 minutes by foot. The experience seemed very authentic. Most of the staff understand basic english, so communication was never an issue. Our room was very clean and tidy. Everything you need for a 2 night trip was there. The outdoorbath was pretty small, but that was never an issue with the amount of people staying there. Breakfast and dinner were in a japanese style and very tasty, but maybe not to everyone's palate. Overall the stay was pretty good and I would stay there again.

It is not expensive for a ryokan, but I think it is a really good value for money accommodation. There were some reviews that said the kaiseki was not that great, but
there were more kinds than I thought and it was delicious, so I ordered sake separately and ate it deliciously. Above all, the hot spring water is smooth and really good, so I recommend using the hot spring at least twice, once in the evening and once in the morning. It was a pretty accommodation when it snowed.

Even though it was a room for two people with a friend, it was a very large tatami room compared to Yufuin, and the kaiseki and breakfast were neat and delicious. The large public bath and open-air bath were spacious enough to be used by us alone if we had the time~~

The location is very good, just next to the JR station, 3 minutes walk. The hotel is very clean, there is no Chinese service, the waiter is very warm, patient and nice. The tatami bed was made when I checked in, and the reserved meals were served in advance. The service was really great. The hot spring is also good. The only thing missing is that it was windy outside when I checked in, and the windows in the room were not very soundproof, shaking, thin, and noisy.
