We and one other couple rested here for the last 4 days of a very active 3 weeks in NZ. The Gibbston Valley is a wine region just East of Queenstown. It was so perfect. We are from California and this region, which features some tasty Pino Noir, reminded me of Paso Robles decades ago before it became so busy. We e-biked, went wine tasting, and visited Arrowtown, which is an admittedly touristy but nevertheless totally charming small town nearby. There was a lovely jogging/biking trail and some beautiful wineries with stunning views of the mountains. The Gibbston Lodge had beautiful small villas as rooms. Ours had a patio that look right out onto their vineyard. The weather was sunny with clear skies. We enjoyed the services of their Spa. They had several lovely patios for enjoying a drink or dinner. If there is one nitpicky thing it is that there were a limit number of items on the breakfast menu that were unusual combinations by their Chef, which were nice but you couldn't order a la carte basics without having to buy the whole combination. Good lattes/cappuccinos. The Staff were very helpful with transportation and dinner reservations.
