"Location is very good for travellers using Gifu station, just across a street with rows of restaurants behind the hotel. Renovated and clean, we booked a smoking room by mistake, but there was no available non-smoking room to change. Able to open the window to clear some cigarette odour in the room."

"The hotel room is pretty big by Japan standards, and the feeling of the hotel is really grand! Lots of locals were staying there, but the rooms are a little bit dated. The toilet lights were quite dim and the bathrooms could use an update. However, everything worked perfectly and the stay was still extremely enjoyable! The hotel is situated right next to a bus stop so that makes things super convenient! There’s also a family mart behind the hotel (shortcut! go out of the main door, turn right, walk down the ramp, immediately turn right and right again into the small path, go up the stairs past the hotel park, then turn left and cross the small roads, and you’ll find the konbini) The hotel also rents out bicycles to hotel guests FOC, so you can take the bike literally anywhere! We rode to the supermarket (~10 mins away) and also down by the river (10/10 recommended!) and just explored lots around! Gifu is a lovely quiet town and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience a side of Japan that isn’t just Tokyo or Osaka."

"Stayed for 4 nights at the Hotel Gifu Grand last December. Our room had a direct view of Gifu Castle. The breakfast was incredibly lavish, offering not just local sake but also high-quality dishes like cold-cut Hida beef steak and crab legs. They even had a self-service Hida Takayama ramen station, which I happily indulged in every morning 🍜. Highly recommend!"

"An old hotel with 1980’s furnishing but well-maintained and relatively clean. Location wise is quite a long walk from Gifu station. Short stay for business visits or layover during long travel if the room rate is low, otherwise go for newer hotels nearer to the Gifu station."

"In order to be close to the destination of the next day, I chose this hotel, but I didn't expect it to be a couple hotel. The price/performance ratio here is too worth it, less than 400 RMB, the room is super large, the disadvantage is that you can check in after 9 pm and check out at 10 am the next morning. The room is not bad, the facilities are very new, and the toiletries are all big brands. The variety and taste of breakfast are a little biased, but the problem is not big."

"Stayed in a double room for one night in April 2025 [Good points] - Well-equipped bathing facilities - Massage chairs available for free [Points to note] - The hotel is visible from JR Gifu Station, but it is a little far away [Overall review] Dormy Inn hotels have a wide range of bathing facilities, so you can use them with peace of mind. I was tired from traveling, so I was grateful to be able to use the massage chair for free for 15 minutes after bathing."

"Such an excellent hotel in terms of location and even room layout and space. It fit 2 comfortably (but we’re asian so we can only speak for ourselves) and even gave us space to open our luggages and have an area to chill at. Super convenient and so close to the station, getting around was never an issue! My husband fell sick on Day 2 of us being in Gifu so that konbini attached to the hotel was a real lifesaver, as well as the Sugakiya next door! Hotel staff were excellent and super helpful as well. Lots of locals staying there and also lots of amazing food places and parks around the area. Our main objective was to go hiking and the buses made that incredibly convenient! It basically goes clockwise or counter-clockwise around Gifu so you dont really have to worry about getting lost at all. Fantastic trip! We love Gifu!"

"Hotel near to Gifu station just few walk. New modern building Exterior. Lobby at 3rd floor with eating place A bit old fashion style. Room is larger than expect. Bath room has small bathtub with well equipment.Kettle is old style. Pajama too. Breakfast 6.30 -9.30 vary of food stadard bread with japanese style food Salad.Scramble egg is creamy must try."
