Agriturismo Santa Margherita

This was an unfortunate end to a really great holiday in Sicily. When we arrived at the agriturismo there had been a mix up on their side and we actually only had 1 room rather than 2 so 4 of us had to sleep in one room. The decor in the rooms was dated to say the least, with interesting plastic butterflies and sunflowers stuck to the fake stone walls. The beds and furniture in general in the rooms resembled stuff that most people would throw out (non-matching sheets, random beds put together) not the alleged 4 stars the place claims. However on the plus the room was clean when we arrived. There was room cleaning service at all - at least not for us. I chose this place as a convenient hop to the islands however that was not the case at all and due to the fact boats from Patti were no longer running we had to go to Milazzo anyway. Not somewhere I would ever recommend and intend to go back to.

Perfect if you want traditional quiet with amazing views, staff very helpful, food and wine on tap, hire car is a must to visit local towns and beaches. Rooms basic clean and with all essentials, google translate helped when talking to the locals and reading the menus. Definitely would recommend it

I stayed here 10 years ago and when I came back, the staff remembered me. I was again treated like family. The views are spectacular, the food is delicious and made with love. Yes, the rooms can be updated but that is not why you come here. IF you want to feel like a true member of a big loving family- then you come!

Our stay at Agriturismo Santa Margherita was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the picturesque hills, this charming agriturismo offers the perfect blend of tranquility, comfort, and authentic Italian charm. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality. The owners and staff go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels at home. They provided us with excellent recommendations for local activities and dining, ensuring we experienced the best of the region. The rooms were spacious, and clean, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Waking up to the serene landscape each morning was a highlight of our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the traditional furnishings added a cozy touch. The food at Agriturismo Santa Margherita was another highlight. The on-site restaurant served delicious, homemade meals made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Breakfast was a delightful spread of pastries, fruits, and Italian coffee, while dinner was a feast of regional specialties paired with excellent local wines. The flavors were truly unforgettable. The evening entertainment was wonderful and we all very much enjoyed having a dance. The family would be there with us, enjoying us making memories. The property itself is a haven of peace, with beautiful gardens, a sparkling pool, and plenty of space to relax and unwind. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in the Italian countryside with warm service, I can’t recommend Agriturismo Santa Margherita enough. It’s a place where you can truly relax, reconnect with nature, and experience the warmth of Italian hospitality. We’ll definitely be returning! Iacurci Family.

The pictures are deceiving. We never found the pool? The patio tables were plastic with no tablecloths. The mattresses were in need of replacement, but were clean. The furnishings were spare. It would have been a very different experience if we had better directions to get there (Google maps took us the indirect way) and if the staff had been friendlier. We expected a vineyard / farm tour or conversation at dinner but the restaurant was packed with locals (including a party of 20) and we were basically fed but ignored. Our first request for a second bottle of wine was forgotten. The Prix Fixe menu was limited but farm to table food was quite tasty. The was no coffee in the room and breakfast didn’t start until 8. Late breakfast would have been OK if there had been some way to make instant coffee.

Just returned from the most wonderful week at Agriturismo Santa Margherita which we whole heartedly recommend. First the points to bear in mind, it’s a good 2 hour drive from Catania airport, it’s high on the hill on country lanes and a car is needed to go to the beach, shops etc. Its an authentic agriturismo so farmhouse accommodation, location and farm animals as expected and as in the photos including gravel or earth paths around the farm, between buildings and the pool area. Our room was old style country farmhouse in the main building, a little dated but spotless, cleaned every other day with unbelievable views. Although directly above the restaurant and terrace we weren’t badly affected by the noise. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of pastries, cornetto’s, cereal, cheese ham and yogurt available. Evening meals are a set menu ie not a menu you can pick from but you can opt for all courses or just one or two etc. We found this a bit daunting at first but absolutely loved every meal. All of this provides the most authentic Sicilian holiday possible! Every single person there was friendly welcoming and so very helpful. The food was outstanding! No wonder so many Sicilian’s eat there too. The dining is all at the same time so although on separate tables everyone dines together which is a wonderful experience and felt like a family get together rather than a restaurant. Oh and the wine included with dinner was fabulous too! For anyone looking for a true slice of real country style Sicily and isn’t fazed by driving the Italian roads then I truly recommend visiting this area and most definitely to stay at Santa Margherita
