Stirk House Hotel

We sadly only stayed one night, but we can’t speak highly enough of this lovely place. Firstly , the setting is lovely, the place seems spotless. However the icing on the cake is the lovely, engaging, professional staff. We met at least six staff members and each one was outstanding. We had evening meal and breakfast, both faultless. My partner and I stayed at Stirk House for two nights for a family wedding on Dec 23rd 2024. Our experience at this wonderful family run hotel was exceptional from the moment we arrived! The lovely lady who welcomed us at reception was so helpful we knew straight away we were in for a fabulous stay. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we had a mulled wine in the bar in the evening before retiring to our room on the first evening. Our bedroom was lovely with a sofa and a large screen television, we even watched a Christmas film prior to getting ready for the wedding. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent on both mornings with a good variety , cereal , fruit, pastries and the cooked breakfast was very tasty using local produce. The chefs even asked if we had enjoyed the wedding on the previous day! The lady who cleaned our room enquired as we were checking out if we had enjoyed our stay, such good customer service . The wedding itself was a fabulous celebration and we throughly enjoyed celebrating with my niece and her new husband . Stirk House was a magical experience that we both throughly enjoyed thank you so much for the warm welcome and the most wonderful of stays!

Several rooms where booked with Stirk House for 19/20th Feb 26 for a wedding function which has unfortunately had to be cancelled. Deposits of £50 per room were taken at time of bookings, when cancelling the rooms we have all been informed that the deposits are non-refundable, information on their booking website states differently ie refundable upto 3 days before staying. As we cancelled so far in advance of the dates I find it unbelievable that our deposits will not be refunded. When the wedding is rearranged we will certainly be looking elsewhere.

Stirk House was the most wonderful venue for Giggleswick School prom last night. We were so well looked after with a beautiful room for the event, lovely area at the front for photos and welcome drinks. We stayed over and had an amazing suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate living room, perfect for girls getting ready! Staff were so welcoming, from reception to bar, to events organiser, to the restaurant staff at breakfast this morning. Hot breakfast buffet must not be missed.

From begging to the end of attending family wedding The staff were absolutely amazing throughout our stay. The Master of ceremony was highly entertaining and kept the whole event flowing nicely throughout the day. The Venue was wonderful…. The wedding Decor wonderful…. The breakfast and wedding banquet. wonderful ….Cannot fault it!!!! Highly recommend to anyone

The bed was comfy slept well. The room not so good Window would not close frame was rotten The shower temperature was unstable red hot then ice cold changing every few seconds.the toilet was.perched on top of a platform dangerous. But your staff are amazing and make the venue a success. Pity about the room.
