Glasgow Hotels with Bars

I get what this hotel is trying to do, but it doesn't do it that well! I had good communication prior to my stay, a few texts reminding me. I liked the self check in screen, saves time. The room itself was supposed to be a 'queen' but it was extremely cramped, the bed was a small double at best and there was a weird single bunk bed over the double, which made the room feel so small and oppressive. Floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom were inconvenient. There was a door joining my room to the next which was less than ideal. The whole hotel was very noisy, you could hear doors opening and closing all over the place. There was a lot of noise coming from the room next door which was made worse by the door, as this let more noise in. The party eventually stopped about 3am. This wasn't just me, my colleague had to ask someone to come up and stop a party in the hallway at 1am and he was 2 floors up. No kettle, no water, pretty basic room. This would do for one night maximum IF there was nowhere else.

A very warm welcome to Scotland from our receptionist who was so helpful in pointing out the highlights and giving us recommendations. Best night’s sleep in ages. The room was a carbon copy of one we’d stayed in the night before in Newcastle. Modern, super clean and very comfy. Fantastic breakfast with great pastries, lovely yoghurts, porridges, bagels and hot treats. Really loved it.

**Hotel Review: Good for a Short Stay** We stayed at this hotel for one night on January 2nd, and overall, it was a good option for our needs. The check-in process was smooth, and our room was clean and comfortable, making for a pleasant stay. However, things took a turn the following morning. On January 3rd, the hotel was incredibly busy during breakfast. We found ourselves queuing to get into the dining area, which wasn’t ideal, especially after a long night’s rest. Once inside, there were too many people crowded around the hot food stations and the toaster, making it difficult to serve ourselves efficiently. It was clear that the hotel could have managed this situation better. Perhaps they could have implemented a timed breakfast schedule or opened additional serving areas to accommodate the influx of guests. Despite this hiccup, I would still recommend the hotel for a short stay, especially if you plan to have breakfast at a quieter time. Just be prepared for a potential rush if you’re there during peak times!

We stayed one night. Hotel is lovely and very well maintained. Reception staff friendly. Our room was good with amazingly comfy bed. The bathroom however let it down as grout was a bit mouldy and bath matt dirty. Also room didn't appear to have a hairdryer. The Champagne Central bar was great but our cocktails were such a rip off: £10.50 each and had ice to the brim of tall glasses so hardly anything in the glass to drink - shocking and disappointing. Breakfast very good but wouldn't expect to get my own tea or coffee from a machine or make my own toast at a 4 star hotel.

Excellent value for money for three adults including breakfast. Good location, free parking , helpful reception staff. Clean warm room. Comfy bed. Shower and toilet in room. I took travel kettle as no coffee tea making facilities in room, but is available for self service in cafe near reception. Continental breakfast good variety pastries/ meats/ cheese as well as cereals/ toast. Would definitely stay here again.

Lift is horrible as you can not understand how it can be used. Why need to do so complicated things for people. Room was not very clean such a shame for such a quite big price for room. Pool area, we could not get there as normal people as lift was not working, they asked us to dress up and fo out to and reach another entrance, not comfortable at all as you do not want wear your jacket and all bring all your staff to the pool when you can just take a towel. Nice place. Very good staff however I do not recommend it for such a high price.

Having stayed here a few times before due to its location and reasonable price, I was left disappointed this time. I had booked this hotel because for some reason every hotel in Glasgow that weekend was unusually expensive. Hotels I would have expected to pay ＞£100 were £150/180. The jury’s was £111. A warm welcome from reception staff and the main lobby is modern and clean. The room we were allocated (618) was a bit dated. It was spacious because it was an accessible room, not at our request so maybe why it was cheaper than others. The above two points didn’t really bother us because it was just somewhere to sleep as we were attending a gig. Unfortunately we did not sleep very well. The windows didn’t do enough to soundproof the outside street noise, the walls were paper thin and you could hear the neighbours talking, plugging and unplugging electrical items- all minor quiet stuff which you shouldn’t really be able to here. Our room had a buzzing noise coming from the vent in the room which kept us awake til 7.30am… and then the neighbours started getting ready to check out. We never complained during the night because we were so tired after being out all night and the noise was intermittent so just when you thought you were back to sleep, it started again. The room was clean but as I said dated, and for this reason I don’t think I’d chose to stay here again.

Stayed here for one night to attend a gig. First night away as a married couple without the baby! The hotel Is very easy to find excellent location. 24 hour reception was handy as we didn't get back from the gig until very late. The drinks options at the bar were excellent and very reasonably priced. The bed was comfy the room and bathroom were absolutely spotless. I really liked the fact that you had to use an electricity card for power in the room this is a fantastic initiative. The disabled access to the rooms and hotel make it easy to manage around. The handle on the toilet door was the easiest to use and it meant that you couldn't lock yourself in a phobia I have had since young. The breakfast was absolutely scrumptious and a huge variety to select from - pastries, cereals, hot food, toast, yogurts and a variety of drinks. Check out was simple and easy. Staff were wonderful.

We stayed overnight for our anniversary and this was the first time using this hotel. The hotel was first class but what made it a better place to stay was the staff. Jason and Daniel at the front of house were every good and every engaging. The food was excellent and very well prepared so great service from the chef and there staff. Hannah from reception left a special note which was a great touch. We will be regulars now at this hotel and look forward to seeing the staff again.

We walked up from Queen Street Station in less than 10 minutes and were met by Dave the Concierge who lifted our bag in to reception. Chelsea on reception was very kind with a great upgrade due to status and that set us up for a marvellous return trip to the Kimpton Blythswood. The old Scottish Automobile Club building is lovely and the sunny views out onto the gardens in front were very welcome, though the windows in the Salon could be doing with a wash...... Our room was superb, very clean with shower and tub. And some Tunnocks wafers to go with our cuppa. Nice touch. During the social hour we were served by Dave who brought our wine up to the Salon - the old 80m long drawing room on the 1st floor. I had hoped the Salon Bar would have been opened after our last stay, but staffing seems to be the issue. Breakfast in the morning was very good with attentive and engaging staff. We left as we arrived with Dave opening the door and taking us to street level, with his usual chat and charm. We felt special. Thanks.
