This was booked for an overnight stay for my wife’s 50th birthday. The photo’s looked lovely and didn’t disappoint when we arrived. We were met by the owner who showed us to our room. It’s one of the nicest places we have stayed. Bed comfortable, lovely shower. We had a meal in The Angel just up the road, basic but good value and lots of choice. The breakfast room the following day was lovely, with everything laid out for just the two of us and a full cooked breakfast as well as fruit, cereals, pastries etc. We purchased an ornament from the small display cabinet. Also lovely to meet the owners spaniel, Tess. Would not hesitate to book again.

The whole place is brilliant. Great location and fabulous hosts. The suite is incredible - probably the nicest place I have stayed in. Such character. Comfy four poster bed and nice shower. Really good place for visiting long Melford, Lavenham and sudbury. Will definitely go back. If I could have scored it more than 10 I would have

What a gem. Only 2 guest rooms available which means hosts Kay and Doug provide personal service second to none. Very comfortable ensuite rooms with tea/coffee/still water bottles/biscuits topped up daily. Super breakfast featuring the best scrambled egg and sausage ever(better than Cunard cruise ships). Huge garden with plenty of areas to relax in, including swing seat. Lovely peaceful area, ideal for sightseeing Suffolk. Will definitely return.

My wife and I were visiting Suffolk to attend a family birthday and BBQ and were looking for somewhere to stay overnight, as we had a long drive back to Hampshire. Having seen the very positive reviews, which we can now fully endorse, we decided to stay at the Greyhound Hound Cottage. It is a charming and picturesque cottage in a nice, quiet village. We stayed in a lovely ensuite bedroom with an oak beamed ceiling. There was a comprehensive tray with teas, coffee, water and biscuits. Breakfast, which comprised, fruit, cereal, yoghurts, pastries and a cooked breakfast to order was served in private in a charming room. As it was gloriously sunny the following morning, we sat in the garden before we sadly had to leave. We couldn't fault our stay, but the bonus on top was due to our wonderful hosts, Kay and Doug, who really know how to look after their guests. The next time we visit Suffolk, we will definitely stay at the Greyhound Cottage...assuming there is availability!

We have just spent two nights at the wonderful Greyhound cottage the character and charm of this unique building surpassed all of our expectations. As we drove into this amazing property we had our name on a sign directing us to our private parking space in the beautiful grounds we were greeted by Kay and Doug two of the nicest people you could wish to meet before entering into our own wing of this majestic thatched cottage I can only describe this incredible space as fit for a King with its own luxury bathroom and the most tasteful sitting room adorned with exquisite furniture leading to what can only be described as the most beautiful bedroom I’ve ever seen an enormous four poster bed in a vaulted chapel with a staircase to a mezzanine sitting area / library with period chairs just breathtaking. The gardens are manicured to perfecting in this truly tranquil haven. Breakfast was in the main house and again the cottage was breathtaking sitting in a bay window overlooking the grounds was an experience in itself the full English breakfast was as good as it gets and the hosts were so accommodating we just didn’t want to leave. 10 out of 10 for this cottage and we are already planning a return visit.

Greyhound Cottage is a fabulous place to stay. The suite was spacious and very comfortable, with all the things you need to make yourself at home. The breakfasts were superb and the owners could not have been kinder or more helpful. Highly recommended.

We usually try to stay in nice pubs or restaurants with rooms, but on this occasion we hit the bulls-eye and found Greyhound Cottage that used to be a pub. The house is beautifully kept as is the garden by Kay and Doug Mitchell. Our room was spacious and well presented with all the usual requirements with a large modern bathroom that had both bath and shower. We had an excellent breakfast freshly cooked, juices, fruit, cereals and toast together with an array of condiments. Kay & Doug are very welcoming hosts only too willing to advise on nearby places to visit. If I could give it 6, i would.
