The Station Hotel

Multiple problems with this hotel - damp, smelly and unknown stains all over the carpet. One of the worst night sleep I’ve ever had, even though they’re new beds it’s like sleeping on marbles. Toilet leaks. Run down all the way through the hotel. Horrible stay and won’t be staying again. Don’t recommend staying here either.

turned up to be told that it was being renovated and still taking bookings ( clearly not ) - holes in the wall, no staff - bar closed - man that booked us in was smoking in the bar - bedrooms filthy - dead bugs on the floor - stains on the carpets - stained sheets - hotel smelt damp and musky - lights outside did not work so heard cars tooting all night and the windows some you could lock others would not close - would advise reading reviews before booking as this as they are still taking bookings when the hotel is not up to any standard to be used and should be closed and refurbished ....

Booked this in advance and paid up front booking included breakfast but told week before they will next be serving as no staff, this not an issue as they said would refund on arrival but still waiting. Arrived at hotel but when going to the rooms decor was very shabby and wall paper pealing off wall. When entering the room they were dirty and musty with damp stains and cracks coming down the wall. We left immediately to find another hotel but as I paid up front not willing to refund the payments for the room. We had our six year old grandson with us and was afraid of what harm could come to him.

We booked this hotel 2 months in advance through **********. We had an event to attend down there and needed a room. We set off and just by chance noticed a message from them saying our room was No LONGER AVAILABLE and asking us to cancel it. Too late for us as we had a 6 hour journey there so my answer was no. I called up and was promised a call back from the manager. I waited 6 hours and no call from him. I called back to now hear no manager was available to speak to me. The staff member said I would get my money back but that they had no contingency to give us alternate local accommodation places to stay nor a contingency that to stay anywhere there now last minute would cost now over a hundred pounds more as there was no 2 months notice of a booking!! EXTREMLEY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE STATION HOTEL AND THERE IS NO ROOM AVAILABLE WHEN YOU GET THERE SO BUYER AWARE ALERT!!!!!! the manager still has not bothered to contact myself some 4 days later, HOW IS THIS MAN STILL A MANGER OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT, DO AREA MANAGERS NOT TAKE ACTION AGAINST FAILING MANAGERS ANYMORE????

Budget friendly very clean fab shower. Best part are the chaps who work there. Norman is the boss and a lovely guy. Rob, Joe and Curtis are all friendly helpful and cooked a lovely full English breakfast and delivered to our room. Thank you all - I'll be back! Jennifer xx
