Great hotel with a decent location in the middle of the Lake District. You can walk/ cycle to Ambleside which is 5 miles away. Low fells are easy to hike for great views of the area around.
The hotel is more like a private house with rooms. We got a small suite with bedroom, bathroom and living room. We could just about see the lake from the living room.
The bathroom only has a bath and no shower head which was a difficulty for washing hair. Except for that it was very well organised.
Breakfast was at a nearby pub - The Good Sport. It was a limited selection on the menu: full English, breakfast rolls, toast or porridge. You also got a 10% for dinner in the pub too.

Two night stay over New Year with our two young dogs. The Lake View was a perfect option - great location just a couple of minutes walk to Grasmere Centre. Breakfast taken at the Good Sport with the same owners, very helpful staff and good quality breakfast options. The Lake View itself had everything you could want for a relaxing peaceful staff. The management was hands off/off site I.e. everything: keys, additional towels, blankets, cofffee tea supplies etc available to take as needed. Communication and information all to hand. Contact numbers and all clearly to hand. Finally, everything needed for a ‘doggy stay’ was thought of.m and completely de-stressed.

Beautiful, comfy, cosy, thoughtful. Not the cheapest place, but we'd highly recommend it. Unfortunately we missed the feeding of the badgers on the veranda at sunset - next time we'll try and arrive in time for this. The pub connected to the place has pretty good beer, too.

Really lovely accommodation - pet-friendly but spotlessly clean. Well equipped room (ours had a kitchenette) and very well appointed bathroom. Location is great for walking and access into Grasmere whilst being really quiet - right on the edge of the village. Many thanks for a lovely couple of nights.

We stayed two nights in the Lake room - lovely views across the fields to the lake. Beautiful room, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Nice jet bath. Great hosts who made us feel very welcome. Plenty of parking. Breakfast is served at the end of the lane in the Goodsport pub. There is a small craft gin distillery next door - book the tour! Of all the places we stayed in the Lake District this was our favourite.
