We stayed at the Black Horse for 2 nights on a deal whereby the second night was free. The hotel is right in the centre of beautiful Grassington with all its amenities and walks nearby. We were in Room 15 which was a premium king with views. The room was on the 2nd floor looking down towards the main square. There wasn’t a lift. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were big and fluffy. The room wasn’t huge but had everything we needed and we particularly loved the complimentary extras like the beers, popcorn, crisps and the homemade shortbread. The room had a nice bathroom with large shower and even had a window, which was great for natural light and fresh air. I think it would’ve been better if we could’ve adjusted the room temperature ourselves but apart from that we had no complaints. The view of the sun setting from our room was amazing. The restaurant was called the Morral and the pre order breakfast was delicious and served promptly. We ate dinner there both nights and the food and service were very good. We really enjoyed the Thursday burger night where you could have burgers for 2 people for £25. They were very tasty and great value. We can’t wait to visit the Black Horse again.

Another excellent visit to The Black Horse. Served by Agi on this occasion. We had the 2 course set menu. Lots of choices but for the 2nd time in 2 weeks we had the same meal. Pork Loin and Beef Lasagne with Berry crumble and custard for afters. Absolutely delicious from start to finish. One of the best lasagnes I have ever had, served with salad and garlic bread. An added bonus was a drink included in the meal deal. Definitely our favourite eatery in Grassington and will be returning. Great staff, great food, warm and welcoming what more could you ask for 🙂

My wife and I booked for a Sunday Roast having been impressed with the same a few months prior. This visit was equally fantastic; it was one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had. I even considered the idea of ordering a second helping. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.

Nice enough atmosphere when we arrived but waited so long at the bar, especially considering there were only a handful of people in. Tables were dirty and sticky. The majority of staff that we did see during our visit were spot on, however one came across as angry and rude. We left after meeting her and spent our money in the more welcoming pubs we found on our trip around Grassington.

Visited today for lunch . The pub was reasonable quite with only one other table in the bar area waiting for food on our arrival. We ordered two sandwiches a hot beef and a beer battered fish and the pulled pork fritter starter. Whilst waiting 2 other tables ordered there food after bus and they proceeded to receive there food before ours. When I asked about our wait for our food I was told the delay was due to me ordering a starter. And this takes longer than sandwiches. Although one of the tables had ordered fish and chips. Our food arrived minutes later to be literally thrown down in front of me. The chips were more ike scraps and definitely well done. My beef was look warm at best. My pork fritter was advertised with apple puree compressed apple crispy sage and micro herbs. No crispy sage on this occasion and bland. No table check was carried out whilst eating and when I mentioned the wait to a member of staff I was told in a rather snappy way well we are busy. I feel that this is a typical attitude to tourist as won't be there tomorrow. This experience was a shame as I was actually impressed with the pub and was thinking of booking for a stay in the future but may think twice now.

We stayed two nights at this lovely hotel. We received a fantastic, friendly welcome (Zoe?), and was given lots of information about parking and the village in general. We stayed in room nine which was lovely and clean. Very comfortable and cosy. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Great entertainment on Sunday night, really good atmosphere. Lunch was lovely and breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We will definitely return in the very near future.

Well the team at the Black Horse have done it again and made our 2024 New Year a wonderful experience. Everyone in the team play their part so it would be unfair of me to mention any one person. Every little ask gets accommodated wherever possible. The Black Horse never fails to deliver it is our go to place for the New Year festivities. New Years gala meal as always was a wow especially the golden egg desert which blew us away. Thanks again to Grassington and the Black Horse it was an absolute blast. Home now relaxing but raring to go again next year. That good we have all booked for next New Year. The entertainment was absolutely brilliant Maria got everyone partying right from the outset

Just returned from another fantastic stay at the Black Horse over the New Year Period. What can I say, each year we say it can’t get any better, then the team go the extra mile to ensure our stay is absolutely fabulous from beginning to end. The girls have gone out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us, the Gala Dinner on NYE was amazing, thank you to the fabulous chefs. Maria Watson-Graham made the evening with her fabulous entertainment. Thank you to Agi, Phoebe Tia and all the other staff who have looked over the last couple of days you’ve all been amazing.
