ILita Lodge offers great views and is situated in a prime location. The exterior is well maintained. However, the interior and the furniture needs a serious upgrade. The furniture is old and full of scratches. The sheets had me sleeping on the edge of the bed. I was not comfortable with the level of cleanliness at all. The interior is deserving of a one star* and the exterior deserves a four star****. The staff is friendly and allowed me to have a late check out. I recommend an upgrade of the interior furnishings.

We arrived for a birthday celebration and decided to sit inside as birthday lady turned 82. We ordered drinks and waited...10minutes later she came to get our orders for the eats...and we waited one and a half hours! Then the cake arrived. 10min later the pancakes. But one person short. So we asked again. Now it was 2hours since we arrived. They said they will bring the cinnomen pancakes...and they did, but it was cold and no sugar just cinnomen?! So the lady - a friend of the birthday lady, said dont worry I am not going to eat this cold pancakes anyway. Everyone has eaten their food already and we just asked for the bill. Worst service since we've been bringing guests here in the last 8 years. Bad bad bad!

We were a table of 6 people celebrating my mother’s 82nd birthday. We waited 1hr for our food of which 2 was only cake and 1 plain cinamon pancake. The pancake came a half an hour after the rest of the 5 guests received their food. The pancake was for a lady who was 88years’s old. It was dry and cold with no sugar, hence she did not eat it.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have traveled extensively (49 countries) and think this is one of most beautiful properties I have visited. The views are sweeping and spectacular. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfasts were yummy. The employees are kind and professional. I am a travel agent and will recommend Ilita Lodge to all of my clients traveling the Garden Route in South Africe.

A combination of hotel rooms and self-catering accommodation in an idyllic setting in the hills overlooking the Great Brak River valley and the Indian Ocean seafront. The views are simply wonderful, the restaurant and coffee shop offer good food at reasonable prices (especially on Tasty Tuesday, when there is a 1 for 1 offer at the coffee shop). The self-catering accommodation comes equipped with all the mod cons. Only downside is that there is no public transport to speak of, so you will need a car to get to/from the Lodge. The town is a nice 10-15 minute downhill walk, but getting back is ALL UPHILL. The small local town has art shops and a few cafes, but do not miss the Grasshopper factory outlet, where quality locally-made shoes and bags can be had for a fraction of their high street or on-line prices. There are private game reserves within a 30-minute drive offering viewing of some of the "big 5", and the town of Mossel Bay is nearby. Staff and service was extremely warm, friendly and helpful.

Went there for a birthday breakfast... Lovely and pleasant place. Wonderfully friendly staff always ready to assist where needed. We enjoyed their full breakfast was lovely. Peaceful setting with a beautiful view.

One that will probably not stay a "hidden gem" for much longer! Beautiful views, great service and a good orientation to customer satisfaction. We made use of the guesthouse accommodation that included breakfast. For dinner, try the local spots in and around town or simply do self-catering. The lodge offers a lapa (BBQ/Braai area) free for all guests to use - a large area that caters for open air "campfire style" or inside with ample seating. The basic utensils are available and wood and cutlery can be arranged on request. There are two swimming pools for all guests and numerous spots to relax and enjoy the views. Guesthouse rooms come standard with coffee/tea facilities and a small fridge. The privacy of your own balcony offers a good afternoon relax opportunity!
