Property Description
Built in the early 1900s as a stable block and tractor shed, the barn has been redesigned by a local architect with modern living and comfort in mind whilst retaining original beams. Sitting in it's own wrap around garden with views onto the fields the barn has an open plan living room with a log burner for cosy nights inside whilst the sun drenched patio offers the ideal spot for alfresco dining or watching the sun go down. A grassed lawn stretching the length of the stable block links with a second patio off the master bedroom suite. It offers plenty of space to relax and unwind all year round.
You may spot the local barn owls, bats circling over the garden in the evenings, geese migrating across the skies or muntjac and deer roaming the fields.
The barn is situated in the small peaceful hamlet of Runham with a shop and 2 pubs approximately 2 miles away in neighboring villages. From the barn take a gentle walk down to the River Bure across open fields for a picnic or a 20 minute walk along the country roads will lead you to Thrigby Wildlife Gardens. In the village there is a small children's playground and village green.
Empty roads and the odd gentle hill makes cycling easy and pleasurable for all abilities. The expansive unspoilt sandy beaches of Caister await 5 miles away for swimming , sand castles and seal spotting, while boat hire on the broads is just 3 miles.
Please note that the barn has 2 open steps between the dining area and main living space and a step in the master bedroom. In addition, it does not have hand rails in either of the bathrooms.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 9:30 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:30 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 18.About events:No events allowed.

We have stayed at many self catering locations, many are average but Bishops Barn is by far the best we have stayed in. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Attention to detail all the added extras make you feel so welcome.Keith and Diana

Brilliant
We got there a little early, but wasn’t a problem Viv had baked us a lovely loaf of bread. There is a lovely outside space the kitchen with table & chairs, also a table tennis table all covered up also outside space of one bedroom, again where you can sit The lovely thing also is children’s books & games it is quite spot in a village, so not near the beach Other than that if you want a quiet spot perfect, sorry no pics taken & know shop near by

A fantastic stay
We had a wonderful time staying at Bishop’s Barn, we hope to return in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone else. Viv is an excellent host - before arriving she sent us extremely helpful information that allowed us to plan our trip and the house was spotless and very well equipped. Thank you for everything!

We loved our stay here. The barn was beautifully decorated with some original features, & tastefully modernised. Spotlessly clean, amazing shower, gorgeous garden space, and a very friendly cat, Pop, who visited. Viv & David were perfect hosts who had great dining & other recommendations, and were very accommodating. The fresh tulips, welcome hamper and cakes were also very thoughtful and a lovely touch, as were the fresh eggs from their hens, which were delicious! We would definitely return and recommend Bishop's Barn to friends and family.
