The Glen House Hotel was built in classic New England vernacular with clapboards and painted trim similar to the previous four Glen Houses that have stood on its site since 1852. The spacious guestrooms are reflective of the simplicity of Shaker design while the lobby embraces both the history of the Mt. Washington Auto Road and local Native American roots. Although inspired by the past the technology of today separates The Glen House from its predecessors. The Glen House Hotel will be close to energy self-sufficient and carbon neutral thanks to a geothermal system that will provide heating and cooling as well as two offsite energy-generating projects harnessing hydro and solar power. The Glen House Hotel is scheduled to open in Summer 2018 and features 68 guest rooms with balconies and spectacular views of Mount Washington.
