Sui Yi Hotel

Do NOT recommend. We booked this place for 2 nights during Canton Fair. We had a full itinerary and short on time. The Good: - Our flight arrived late, and we were able to send Jojo our documents and get the door code so we could go straight to the room upon arrival. - The pillows were super comfortable. - The fridge worked well. - The location was good, easy to get a taxi and get around the city. With plenty of restaurants near by and Flower City Garden within walking distance. The Bad: - Literally everything else. Our room was so far from the photos that it felt like fraud. The room was not clean. There were stains and mould on the wall. The bed was insanely hard. The balcony was rusted, dirty, with no chairs or table and completely unusable. It also had bedding and towels hanging, I assume from the previous tenants. The light switch kept coming off the wall. There was exposed electrical wiring. The ceiling in the kitchen was falling down. There were loud construction noises starting at 7AM every morning. It felt like they put cute furnishings into an insanely old room to dress it up but it’s still just that, an old dirty room. Which is fine if that’s what is advertised, but it’s not. Ultimately - we had no time to switch rooms during our stay and were refused a refund. The real problem is that this hotel thinks it’s okay to post photos of one thing and then give customers something not even close to what they advertise. The accommodation is fine for what it is but it’s absolutely not what they advertise it to be, and that’s called fraud. 😃

The apartment is very conveniently located, with it being a very easy walk to Zhujiang New Town or Wuyangcun subway. It is very nicely decorated and a good sized. My only complaint is that I feel the bathroom was not very nice, and not well cleaned, compared to the rest of the property.

+ Location of the apartment is perfect right in the center of the city. If you like walking you can even go to the Canton tower on foot. There are many cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. +\-It is easy to check in if you speak Chinese. There is no lobby, so you need to call the hotel. They send you the door password. - The way from a lift to the room is dark maybe a bit scary to walk alone. The room is dirty, furniture is old. However some elements of design are really nice.
