Room was smelly and dirty, a lot of stains on the cupboards and even bed.
Asked to change to a new one, he gave me one with very bad mould toilet. Asked to change another and it looked 1/2 refurbished with slabs of concrete all over the floor.
Convenient though.

This was the worst hotel we have ever booked. The carpeting for the hallways were very dirty & stained and the smell was so bad that my wife had to spray the room with deodorizer. There are no amenities at all. Also be aware that the toilet and the shower share the same floor so if you use the toilet the floor will be wet from showering. I should have asked to see the room beforehand and should have canceled my reservation immediately. We decided later that evening it’s not worth staying in after all: After checking another hotel while we were enjoying the city, we decided to book at the other hotel. We decided to take a loss on the staying the night at the Meiye Hotel and checked out without staying the night. I don’t even know how they received a 4 stars rating (should be 1star @ most).

The room is clean and tidy. The service attitude of the lady at the front desk is very good. There are also free snacks and popsicles. The transportation is convenient. The room is clean and comfortable. It is close to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. It is a very good hotel.

Overall acceptable but if they could improve on the sound proofing and the shower/toilet would be best cos the floor will remain wet after shower as there's no shower screen to prevent splashing.
The courier or food delivery services is unlike other hotels where it's either sent directly to room by robots or left with front office. But Meiye, it's simply drop off at the desk outside the lift and you'd need to go search for yourself and take at your own wish so anyone can just take anything even if it's not theirs.
The bed is those kind of stiff sense type which is perfect to my liking.
TV can load the menu but unable to watch cos it'd just try loading and never will get into the program selected.

The location is quite nice only a few minutes walk to Beijing Lu paedestrian area.
The hotel service is meh. The staffs are not friendly.
The amenities: they don’t even give an extra paper rolls for the toilet. The towels are full of extra bleaching smell.
