Boon Hotel + Spa - Adults Only

The Boon Hotel and Spa in Guerneville, CA, is an ideal place to relax and recharge, whether you're alone or with friends. We visited with some business colleagues and had a fantastic time. The property exudes a hip, modern vibe and is impeccably clean, welcoming, and professionally run. Our room was spacious and uncluttered, equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast delivered to our room was delicious, and it provided the perfect amount of food and beverage before our hike at nearby Armstrong Woods. Some rooms feature a private tub on the back porch, where you can soak with a glass of wine while gazing up at the trees. The cabins surround the pool area, which boasts a sizeable inground jacuzzi, a fire pit, and numerous comfortable chairs and lounge areas. Thanks to the extensive honor bar by the pool, we didn’t have to worry about drinks or snacks. My husband enjoyed a much-needed massage at the on-site spa, which was incredibly relaxing. The Boon staff greeted us with smiles and were very accommodating throughout our stay. This is a fantastic spot in a charming town. We had dinner on the main street at Road Trip, where the food was delicious, the place was packed, the service was amazing, and we all enjoyed our meals. As owners of Wine Tour Pros, we travel extensively and often have clients who stay in this area to hike and then join us for a wine tour. We will definitely recommend The Boon Hotel and Spa to them from now on. Cheers!

This was our second visit after going our first time 3 years ago. Simply the best vibes of any hotel we have ever been to. The staff feel like good friends you have known for years. Perfect location in Guerneville, with biking or driving for food very accessible. I proposed to my girlfriend this past weekend at Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve (also a very short drive from the hotel), and Marco went above and beyond, connecting me with a photographer in the area a month in advance of our stay so that we could have someone take professional photos of the engagement!

A very cool, unique, and eclectic place. Room was very comfortable, it included an outside tub and a vinyl record player along with a few records. Has a nice sitting area around a fire pit that was relaxing. Employees always greeted us with a smile and were professional and friendly. Very centrally located to vineyards and a 1-2 min drive to Guerneville main street with shops and restaurants. We took a morning ride to spend time in Bodega Bay also, about a 30 min drive. An enjoyable quick getaway and we felt great about selecting Boon!

I wanted to find a spot that was close-ish to Salt Point State Park (closer than SF, anyway) that also had a hot tub to soak in after hiking all day. Boon looked like a great choice with quiet hours and what looked to be a serene setting near the Russian River. Booking and checking in were a breeze; the staff was very responsive to questions, and they had my room prepped for my late arrival. I had booked a basic Queen room, and it was as expected. It was clean, bright, and warm. Queen bed, a small table with a couple of chairs, and another table mounted on the wall facing the bed. Note that my room didn't have a TV; there was a record player instead, with a few records available to put on, provided by the hotel. Decor-wise, it was cozy. Pergo wood floors, small fridge stocked with drinks, what looked like natural wood for the tables and one chair. Heater worked great! The walls are pretty thin though, but I sleep with earplugs and the hotel provides earplugs as well. The bathroom was a little more dated than expected, but still was fine. Toilet paper was single-ply, or if it was double-ply, it was the thinnest double-ply I've ever used in my life. The TP at the park was better than this! Anyway...good water pressure in the shower, and there was a little window in the shower stall for ventilation. The screen in the window had a hole in it though, so I did have to kill a couple of mosquitoes. The only other con I can think of is that the pillows were quite flat and hard, so doubling them up to make them higher hurt my ears (or maybe I just have sensitive ears). Hot tub was great and I had it mostly to myself for the 3-night stay. The pool, pool bar, and hot tub area was very well maintained. Breakfast was basic but appreciated: Urn of coffee, a boiled egg, yogurt topped with berries, a glass of OJ, and a huge muffin. I only accepted the breakfast tray after my first night as I left earlier than the scheduled breakfast times all the other days (earliest they serve is 8:30 a.m., so I wound up picking up coffee from elsewhere). Suggestion to management: Have coffeemakers in the rooms or offer an earlier option than 8:30 a.m. for coffee, if possible. I think this is a family-owned property, so I do understand the limitations tied to that. Overall, a pleasant stay in a quiet area on serene grounds. I got a great deal (third night free), but am not sure if I'd pay the going rate without the deal in the future. I simply didn't stay on property enough or take advantage of things like complimentary breakfast enough. I do recommend this spot for couples looking for a weekend getaway.
