"The hotel I was originally booked in had a flood so at the last minute I had to find another one, I found  Arkale lodge and it didn’t disappoint, the rooms are pretty basic, but extremely clean which  in my book is more important than a fancy room. And certainly good enough for the price I paid, the gentleman that showed me around was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was from 7 which was perfect for my continuation of my Hadrians wall walk. The Breakfast was included in the room price and was exceptional (full English, which I easily adapted as a non meat eater)  It was plentiful, delicious and freshly made. And a great start to my long tiring day  Thank You so Much  For your kind hospitality  Cathie :)"

"Everything was perfect. I wanted a homely bed for the night and this filled that. Lovely welcome and more breakfast than I could eat! Actually much nicer than I expected which is always a win"

"The staff were very friendly, room & beds were clean but a little sp**** & needing some renovation. The breakfast was lovely, plentiful & made to order, choice of cereal, toast, cooked breakfast, tea & coffee. The only downside was the boom booming of the music from the bar going on to the early hours."
