This is a terrible hotel. Been to Turkey on successful All Inclusives many times. We moved out of Smart Stay Beach 24 hours later to another hotel with the help from our travel agent. Got a full refund, so this tells me our complaints were accepted! Looked at the review scores 3 weeks before and the review scores were getting worse. Two days before we left and it had 6 or 7 showing 0 out of 5 scores. I now can't find many reviews at all, or any of the original bad reviews. Just 3 new ones from 10th June showing 5 out of 5, looks odd... They shouldn't be able to remove poor reviews. We are an easy to please holiday couple but even we couldn't stay there. Rooms old and damaged, WiFi kept disconnecting, bathroom floods, no bath as advertised, food very stale and bad: not turkish, advertised services and photos on website are old and don't reflect the true condition or service or details available. 24 hours later now we are now booked in to lovely family run hotel a few miles further down in Bodrum. Hotel is still being advertised as 4 Star on some websites. Needs taking down. If you are due to stay here contact your travel agent, you may need some help when you get to this hotel, especially if you want to get out. One little plus is the reception staff did their best to try and help but it is really unrealistically out of their control.

came tp hotel during turkeys holiday and the hotel was full off turkies familes however they made us feel so welcoming and got us to join in with there activities, from going to dance clubs and water activities. with us being Scottish men there was no problems at all . the food was basic but enjoyable . There was certain staff who stood out during our stay . the entertainment girl who made sure everyone was happy and kept entertained. the bar staff where amazing . i cant say a bad word about them . they always looked after u . The bar manager was amazing and looked after us at all times . however he was made to go .

This is what I wrote to the tour operator: Good afternoon, We are seriously disappointed about the Hotel we selected from your description on the website. It most definitely was not 4 star. The most disturbing complaint is about the state of the bathroom. There was black mould on the ceiling above the bath, around the rim of the bath and in the basin below the tap. We arrived late evening on the 13th May and complained about the mould first thing next morning. Nothing was done. We complained twice more in the week. On one occasion mid week, my wife sought out the 'technician' as they called the handyman, took him to the room and pointed out the mould to him. Nothing happened. From midweek I developed a throat infection that is only now subsiding. On the few times that we did get hot water (complained about on the first day), the bathroom smelt of mould. We never had hot water in the morning and not every evening. There was a bath and basin but no plugs so the bath could not be filled and the basin tap had to run constantly when in use. We were told on complaining that they do not 'do' plugs We did not have a linen change for the first 4 days (again complaints were made). On the third day I went back to the room just as the cleaners were working on the room next door. I made sure that the 'please clean my room sign' was visible on the door handle. When we returned to the room later we found that the label had been changed 'to do not' disturb and the room had not been cleaned. We went straight to reception to complain but nothing happened until the following day. The choice of spirits on the all inclusive bar was minimal. We know that the description said that the alcohol on offer would be the Turkish equivalent but only Gin, Vodka and Rahki were available. The food at meal times was invariably unlabelled so it was a lottery as to what you ate. There were no lifts and access to the hotel was by a steep set of stone steps to the front with no ramp or an uneven narrow set of steps to the pool/bar area. We cannot remember being in a 4 star hotel where the room did not contain an information pack about facilities offered and when they were available. Here we were told to photograph an A4 sheet of paper hanging to the side of the reception desk. We paid for a 4 star hotel, we most certainly did not get it and want to know how you are going to respond to this. Please find attached pictures of the mould on the ceiling and basin. Kind regards, John and Loretta Mansfield

It's an absolute shame about the food! It was chicken lunch and dinner time for the whole three weeks. Unbelievable!!! We ate out every night and spent a fortune. The rooms are big and clean. The staff is very polite and very helpful. The location is good. Drinks were tolerable. But never again.

The worst hotel I have ever been to! Dirty and worn. Broken lampshades, pieces of the bathtub were missing, etc. The food in the restaurant could not be eaten, so we ate both lunch and dinner at restaurants outside. The staff were rude and had no sense of service whatsoever. It should be a 4 star hotel it’s not worth even 1 star!!!

GOOD - The room cleaning was very good , my room was ok although the decor and furniture was tired and needed modernising. Alcoholic drinks not watered down like some other all inclusives. Reception staff, when they understood what you needed were helpful. Not too far to the beach. BAD - Other staff generally surly and appeared that they didn't want to be there. Unless you are a fluent Turkish speaker the staff will not understand you. Hot food selection poor with one chicken stew option for evening meals. I got the impression that the food was aimed solely at the mainly Eastern European visitors. Chicken nuggets and chips a staple for every meal including breakfast. Very poor selection of alcoholic drinks -gin, vodka, raki, Tuborg lager, red and white wine was all that was on offer with no premium drinks. At least two couples had money stolen from their rooms whilst I was there. If this happens to you and you want to report this to the police, you will need to pay £65 for an interpreter for the police to file a report. Poor hygiene with hot and cold food left uncovered accessible to flies and staff smoking whilst cooking omelettes. Ladies toilets beside the "restaurant " were in poor condition and smelled awful. There is a astroturffed area with sunbeds, however you were told to move off it at 6pm every day even although it was still sunny. Similarly the all inclusive pool bar closes at 11pm, after which it was made clear that you had to vacate the area, even although you had full drinks. It was a very cheap holiday, but due to the poor food choices (in my opinion) we dined out every night, so spent a lot more than we anticipated. Bear this in mind and it may be better to pay a bit more for a better hotel at the outset. We won't be back.

Terrible. Where do I start. No diet drinks. Good repetitive chicken every day. Rooms were ok. Pool area and pool ok. Bit to far to come back & forth to beach for drinks. Ended up buying them down beach. Had to buy my own diet drinks. The card key opened other doors. My friend had money pinched out of her room that was in her case. The staff don’t speak good English. No Plugs for the sink & bath. No hand sanitizer all empty. No gloves when handling the food in restaurant. Smoking behind the omelette station. Flys on the cheese and ash from his fag. Staff were miserable. This hotel wasn’t my choice I was put here as an alternative 2 weeks b4 my holiday. Balconies to small to fit table & chairs on. Beware

The hotel is in need of urgent refurbishment and repair, very dirty and run down!! All the bad and negative reviews please believe them and then think worse!! My partner and I went with an open mind and didn't expect too much as it was an all inclusive last minute deal. We chose to ignore the negative reviews, go with the flow and enjoy hoping for the best.......big regret! There was no mini market on site, no Turkish bath or sauna open, no spa massages and no midnight snacks as advertised, most of the facilities were either closed down out of order or broken. We had no hot water for a shower day or night and the bed was not changed once during our stay. The stench in the ladies communal toilets at the back of the restaurant was unbearable and turned you stomach every time you passed them and in a bad state of repair. The food was a disgrace and for most of the time inedible! The staff were unfriendly and disinterested and ignored you, the staff member who was at the omelette /snack station used to prepare the food with a cigarette in his mouth. Okay they say you get what you pay for but you do not even get what you pay for here!! Brits Avoid!
