Beautiful cottages, set in mature gardens. The accommodation felt very private and cosy. We received a warm welcome and were given plenty of information about the area. Fabulous breakfast with home made granola and yogurt. Everything was an easy walk away. We loved the atmosphere in Hahei and found the locals very friendly. Our hosts recommended the 1 hour rib boat for wildlife and visit to Cathedral Cove, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We ate in The Pour House both evenings and the food and service were very good. We would have loved to have stayed in Hahei longer!

Wonderful hosts—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The individual cottages offer a perfect blend of privacy and nature, surrounded by lush plants and trees. They are spacious, well-equipped with all amenities, and conveniently located near the village center. For an unforgettable experience, take the 55-minute pre-dawn hike to Cathedral Cove at sunrise before the shuttle and water taxi services begin.

The Church was a lovely self contained apartment with all the facilities for an excellent self catering stay. The location was within easy walking distance of the beach which allowed for refreshing daily swims. Would definitely recommend the location if on the Coromandel as you will find a chilled, relaxing place to stay in the great village of Hahei.

We stayed a couple of nights in a garden cottage. The cottages are small but have all that you need - a very comfy bed, a kitchenette, little table and chairs, bathroom with a fab shower and a little patio and seating area. It is a lovely setting and right next to where you can get the bus to Cathedral Cove. Glen was very helpful giving us info on the local area. Also, we found it extremely hot as there is no Aircon but Glen kindly provided us with a second fan and a sheet so that we could ditch the duvet and this helped us get a better night's sleep 🙂

Accommodation: Garden Studio. Very warm welcome, with all the details and advice on places to discover and shops nearby (400 m.). The accommodation is very good: everything is there and there's the possibility of having a good breakfast (with reservation the day before) which you can have, in the peace and quiet, on the little terrace. For meals, don't look any further: go directly next door to the Church Bistro. You're in for a treat. If you also want to go to Hot Water Beach, shovels and towels are available free of charge (next to reception). What more could you ask for?

The Church Cottage was our favorite lodging on our trip to North Island. The host went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and tell us about the area. The free towels for Hahei Beach and shovels to dig at Hot Water Beach were great, and the Church Bistro food and ambiance divine, but just as special was sitting on the cottage porch, drinking local wines the village wine merchant insisted were the best (he was right), eating assorted cheeses and crackers, listening to birds and looking at the surrounding jungle of foliage. Peace, comfort, bliss sums it up nicely...

Great staff, super friendly and great tips for sightseeing. Really cozy cabins and garden, big plus for private terraces! Good breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Only downside is that it’s a bit warm in the night and no ac. Some mosquito netting for the windows would have helped a lot since the evening is quite cool. Thanks for a great stay! Would love to come back.

We had a magnificent stay at the Church. Super lodges with very comfortable accommodation, very friendly and helpful staff, and ideally located within Hahei for getting out and about. The place has a very relaxed feel about it, and it made for a really super stay. Thoroughly recommended
