It's a shame that the hotel doesn't keep what was promised before we arrived. We have a sensitive dog and we specifically contacted the hotel BEFORE we arrived to ask about the hotel's conditions and to check our dog's needs. Unfortunately, these agreements were not kept during our stay. We were assured that there was a separate area in the annex with the dog rooms where it would be quiet. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It was very loud and, although the hotel was not even remotely full, all of the rooms in the so-called "dog section" were occupied and there were problems as several people gathered in front of our room while we were away and our dog naturally made a fuss about it. The people who gathered in front of the room were of course people who didn't have a dog with them and had no understanding of a dog barking when the owner was away and several people gathered in front of the door. This simply caused us a lack of understanding and anger, as we had specifically checked the situation beforehand and, inexplicably, the entire compartment was packed full, even though half the hotel was empty. Accordingly, it was quite stressful to leave the dog alone in the room for meals and you couldn't even eat in peace. Not to mention that you had to pay €14 per night for the dog to justify yourself to the other guests. I also think it's a disgrace that the hotel is declared a wellness hotel when the spa area consists of a small sauna and a tiny relaxation area. It was OK for hiking. Some hiking trails were closed due to forestry work and you couldn't do the huge loops because you were already at the summit. The signage for the hiking trails was also poor. What was really OK was the food. But it wasn't justified for the price. There was a buffet with a small selection. Unfortunately, we won't come back again after this experience.

This year, too, my wife and I spent five wonderful days in the wellness oasis "Hotel Restaurant Walpurgishof" in the run-up to Christmas. Our expectations were exceeded time and time again. The spacious and immaculate comfort double room offered us the ideal retreat. Equipped with a balcony and a modern bathroom, it lacked no comfort. Our palates were pampered daily with a varied breakfast buffet and varied three-course menus (we had booked half board). The spa area, although small, once again proved to be a pleasant oasis of relaxation. Cleanliness and a calming atmosphere dominated this area, which offered a sauna landscape and a refreshing swimming area. The wide range of treatments in the wellness area, such as the "aroma bath for two" that we booked, is particularly praiseworthy. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff contributed greatly to our well-being. From reception to the restaurant to the spa, we were always warmly welcomed and looked after. Our five-day stay at the Hotel Walpurgishof was an unforgettable break that we will repeat next year. A big thank you goes to the entire team for this relaxing time.

We celebrated a great family reunion with around 30 people in this very good hotel. The coordination with the management staff was excellent and the rescheduling of the date due to the pandemic was accepted without any problems. Our guests were very satisfied with the rooms, the ambience and the service, as my wife and I can confirm. Our planned get-together turned into a lavish celebration, which can only be achieved through the well-being of everyone present. The excellent care provided by "Maria", the good house spirit, was particularly noteworthy. The food was excellently prepared and was consistently praised by our guests, as was the great breakfast selection. We can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience and if we ever meet again in the Harz, this hotel will be our first point of contact again. Wij hebben hier enkel in het restaurant gegeten. Gedurende een hele week aten wij elke avond een ander menu en die waren stuk voor stuk uitstekend. Niet echt goedkoop, maar prijs/kwaliteit echt een aanrader.

Die Leistungen des Hotels waren sehr unterschiedlich. Wir waren zu zweit mit Hund da, das Zimmer war, mit Ausnahme des Geruchs im Badezimmer, gut, die Lage allerdings weniger. Mit dem Hund ist eine enge Treppe zu besteigen, die Zimmer liegen direkt hinter der Etagentür und sind auch von der Ausrichtung zur Rathausstraße nicht wirklich ruhig. Als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen ist die Lage des Hotels aber klasse. Das Frühstück war wirklich gut, das Abendessen (in der Halbpension 1 Abend Menü, 1 Abend Buffet) hätte man sich besser sparen sollen. Das Personal an der Rezeption war freundlich professionell, das gilt für das Restaurationspersonal, insbesondere am Abend, allerdings weniger. Die kostenfreien Parkplätze am Hotel sind wiederum gut, ebenso der Wellnessbereich.
