The facade and the hotel structure were less pleasing and I was worried when I arrived. There was no proper drop-off area. The moment you step in, you don't feel the typical hotel because it's a museum kind. The reception was at the back and the whole place looked put off. I entered the room and the aircon conditioning was very poor and the room was hot (I stayed from 29 Apr to 1 May and the outdoor weather was hot!). Honestly, I felt uncomfortable but after the initial impression set in, I began to feel the charm of the hotel. The hotel painstakingly put up ornaments and the history's of Nanyang. It wasn't like a typical commercial hotel. The room was spacious with no lack of amenities. Bed and pillows were good for sleep. They provided laundry detergent and free laundry and drying service. Breakfast was bad (please skip). The location was superb!!! In the heart of Qilou Old Street, walking distance to Clock Tower (less than 10 mins) and Century Bridge (45mins by walk and 10mins by car). Excellent foot massage (郑远元） within walking distance (less than 8mins).

We upgraded the room upon check-in, and the room was spacious. The breakfast was also delicious, and takeout could be delivered directly. From the front desk to the cleaning service, they were very enthusiastic. The cleaning lady saw that we didn't have a mouse pad, and left us a small note to add a mouse pad. There were small gifts to choose when checking out. The girl at the front desk took the child to choose a small box of conchs, and the child was very happy. Their dad's tea is very famous locally, and many locals come to eat it, so when I stayed at the hotel this time, I specially chose breakfast. There is a self-service dad's tea for breakfast. I ate several dishes during my two-day stay, and they all tasted good. There were even steamed chicken feet, tripe and ribs~ Pork offal noodles are also worth a try~
