If you are searching and scrolling, look no further! The Guest House Japan Hakuba is where you want to be! Koji and Chikako are amazing hosts and the accommodations are wonderful! If you’re from the USA, this may be new to you, but fear not, you will not regret staying here! There can be up to 20+ people staying in this house at once, but you would never know that! There’s plenty of room to relax. The rooms have beds and individual heaters, so you can control your own temperature. There are shared (or community) sinks and mirrors, and bathrooms, but true to the Japan experience- -all restrooms have individual stalls with a heated toilet seat and a bidet. There are separate shower rooms for men and women, where the freshly filtered water is always warm. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided, but you can also bring your own to use. The onsen is amazing to soak your sore muscles in after your shower!! There’s a downstairs entrance to the gear room where you can enter after a long day of skiing or snowboarding and drop your gear. This is also where you start your day, which makes it convenient to get into the van for transport. Koji, Chikako, Patrick, Anna, Molly, or any other of the incredible team take you and your group to the mountain of choice each day. This is a HUGE benefit because the buses for the mountains are often very crowded and it can take an hour or more! Breakfast is delicious and filling. The comfortable lounge area is a great way to have memorable talks and meet new friends if you wish. Or, if you prefer a quiet evening, it’s easy to retire to your room after making a hot tea or coffee. We will always cherish the wonderful memories we made at the Guest House Hakuba and would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Japan.

We stayed at this guest house for two nights to spend time with our son who wanted to ski in Hakuba. The guest house is stylish, clean, spacious and comfortable. The owners, Koji and Chakiko, were amazing hosts, to say the least. Koji picked us up from the Hakuba bus station and we felt right at home upon arrival. I needed to work via the internet while travelling. Koji and Chakiko gave me a lot of personal space when I was working in the common area which is spacious and very quiet. There were other guests during our stay but we hardly ran into them. Supposedly, they all went skiing from dawn to dusk. I was a bit concerned about the shared bathroom when booking the place but it turned out that I had the facilities all to myself all the time. The bath was an onsen style with a big hot tub. The water was heated and filtered constantly and it was drained and the tub cleaned on a daily basis. Koji also recommended a few very good restaurants and he provided pick up and drop off services as well. I am an Airbnb host myself and understand how difficult it is to run an accommodation and to please each and every of the guests. I am deeply impressed by Koji and Chakiko's genuine efforts, their devotion, attentive services and great hospitality. I highly recommend this guest house to others and will definitely stay there again next time we visit Hakuba.
