Xenia Ouranoupolis Hotel

Beautiful location right on the sandy beach and embedded in natural greenery. The small town center can be reached in 5 minutes on foot. The hotel is manageable in size, never seemed overcrowded and had a family character. The furnishing of our room (bungalow, ground floor) was very old and partly visibly worn. In some places it wasn't really clean (they didn't wipe under the bed, mouse/lizard droppings on the baseboards). Some items were only poorly patched (e.g. shower curtain rod). The walls to the neighboring rooms were also very thin. The two additional beds next to the double bed were just an impertinence: A rickety rusty extra bed with a thin mattress (comparable to the cushion of a garden lounger) and an old squeaky folding sofa with worn out springs and also a thin mattress. That was too uncomfortable even for the children, which is why they slept directly with the mattresses on the floor. This is actually not acceptable and savings are apparently being made at the wrong end - too bad... Breakfast and dinner were fine with us with a good selection and friendly service. Beach chairs and umbrellas by the pool were outdated and not really inviting. The pool water was obviously heavily chlorinated and had an unpleasant smell.

An authentic "Greek beauty", created by exceptional architecture and a holistic approach, in harmony and with respect for the nature, on a beautiful beach, awarded a Blue Flag, spectacular views at the turquoise, emerald, blue sea and neighbouring small islands. Xenia lies within old olive trees, beautiful and well kept green gardens, creating a natural breeze in the hot summer sunny days and nights. My choice of accommodation was based on my wish to be as close as possible to the sea and the beach "a right on the waterfront" room enjoying the "luxury of simplicity" listening to the sounds of the sea and the nature, enjoying the sunrise and the sunset, sunbathing and swimming whenever I felt like doing so.Together with my daughter's family, who have chosen for a luxurious bungalow with lots of comfort, space and views, we enjoyed our time at the children friendly beach and experienced the great taste of the Mediterranean cuisine delicious food made with love with fresh, original, pure and fresh local ingredients, tasted special Greek wines and ouzo. With all the above-mentioned and with the care & efficient service of the personnel, "under the eyes" of a professional, talented and kind manager, always present at breakfast, lunch and dinner for a friendly word with the guests, I really felt that this is Greek hospitality at it's best and that by choosing for Xenia Ouranoupolis, my wish to relax, revive, enjoy has been pleasantly fulfilled. Very nice location the hotel looks good the staff is helpful . A wonderful place to spend your vacation with the family. I recommend. I have been coming here for many years and every time I am pleasantly surprised

The location directly on the sea is perfect, the beach is nice, the environment around the hotel is very quiet, therefore it's the perfect place to relax. The rooms are not top modern, just simple and allright. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are not many options for excursions very near Ouranoupolis, one that's cool is a boat trip to the Donkey Islands (Drenia). The best restaurant in Ouranoupolis is Kritikos.

Everything was good except the beds. They lack a bed mattress and you could feel every spring in the mattress. The system on the beach and in the Beachbar must be changed. Anyone can grab a sun lounger and drinks by just saying the room number. No control and the bills are placed on the wrong people.

An overall fantastic experience ! The place and location are majestic, the staff is very polite and eager to assist and help, the food was delicious and felt just homemade -both dinner and breakfast ! Special thanks to the manager for seeing to acommodate all our needs right away ! Will definitely visit again, 5/5 star recommendation !
