Tui Suneo Royal Kenz - All Inclusive

I have written something like 158 reviews on TripAdvisor and get so disappointed with some of the reviews I read as I am looking at places to visit. This was my 5th trip to Tunisia, my 1st, on my 21st birthday some 40 years ago. Whenever I travel, I always RESET my expectations, you cannot compare a Marriot Hotel in say Spain, with a Marhaba Hotel in Tunisia it’s unrealistic as the countries economies are completely different, as is the available infrastructure, services etc.. Firstly, and most importantly Tunisia is a nation of TIPPING, it’s normal and an act of appreciation. With the current rate of £5 = 20TND it’s really respectful to offer a few TND at dinner with a smile and good service. All the staff work long hours and don’t earn a European salary it’s makes a difference. I have always done this and it makes people life’s that much better. The same for bar staff and the staff serving drinks on the terrace etc. So let’s get the bad points over with at the Kenz…. there are none, nope, not a single bad point. It’s a beautiful hotel in a lovely location, secure and protected by guarded gates front and back. The staff are just brilliant, attentive but not in your face, always smiling despite the long hours they do. The rooms are clean and functional, the air conditioning worked well, maids cleaned daily, if you wish to have a quiet day, then a do not disturb sign will keep you at peace. There is a fridge for milk etc. we took some of those ‘tubes’ you get in restaurants, with us, they are cheap off Amazon, and got a carton of milk in the local shop for a few Dinar when we run out. Our balcony had a lovely view of over the swimming pools. The beach is a 5 minute walk out the secure back gate and is sectioned off with its own bar, the usual water sports are available to hire. Let’s talk about food! The quality, options, cuisines from all over should satisfy all tastes, vegetarian is also included the food was brilliant. There were theme days, Mexican, Italian etc. I tended to eat the Tunisian food most days, why would I want a ‘fry up’, when I can have a tasty Ojja, the local dish of peppers, onions, chilli garlic and eggs, it’s delicious and leaves you with loads of energy, not bloated in …….. The food was always fresh and cooked well, we certainly didn’t get hungry. The staff in the restaurant were truly brilliant. My wife has spinal stenosis and mobility is challenging. Each day they had a table ready for us, with a chair missing so she could use her mobility chair. Our departure time was 06:45 (we had a private taxi), and they made sure the restaurant was opened at 06:00 so we could have some food and drink before we left. There is entertainment daily, both during the day and evenings, the team work really hard to make sure everyone is having a good time, the same for evening entertainment which covered act with flames as well as life music etc. There are a couple of eating options outside the main restaurant which we didn’t try.

Came back on Friday from our favourite holiday hotel. We love this hotel and its super friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them, it’s was my hubby’s birthday when we were there. They decorated the table in the restaurant and the lovely maid decorated the bed. Shout out to Nazar the maître d’ who looked after us at every meal time as my hubby using a walking stick. The white party on the Thursday evening is fab, with numerous cocktails and entertainment. The hotel is spotless. Entertainment every day and night is great. We’ll be back next September

I decided o take a chance on this hotel under recommendation from the TUI Doncaster store. I arrived with a friend for a week from the 22.09.25 - 29.09.25 and what a shock the Patio door broke on the first day and had be fixed before we could even leave the room. The ant problem on the balcony was a problem and we got told due to it being on the ground floor there was nothing that could be done. Due to ants everywhere this prevented the use of balcony. Balcony flooded after raining and cleaning staff had to remove blockage which was a carrier bag stuck in the pipes from other guests. Floor tiles are chipped with chunks missing in the bedroom and we had to make sure we had footwear on to prevent cutting toes. We had to shower in the dark for 2 days while the electricity was having power outage through out the afternoons which also included the air conditioning being off during very hot days The room was very out dated and need decorating. The room seriously needs to new pillow it was like sleeping on a bag of potato’s at night. Wardrobes had big chunks of wood missing from them. The safe had to be broken into the second day of arriving to retrieve money and passports. The cleanliness of the bathroom was shocking. There were mould and shower scum in all grouting in the bath on the tiles. There were ants coming through the sink on the bathroom and the toilet only flushed partly due to the flush not working properly. The fridge in bedroom had to be cleaned out daily due to filling with water. I can safely say I would not want to stay there again !

Lovely hotel, clean, friendly staff, food is varied and very well presented with many choices at each setting. Entertainment staff were fabulous, funny, engaging with all customers and always checking to make sure you are having an enjoyable time without being over bearing. Spa facilities were fantastic, paid extra for the treatments and would highly recommend you take an half day to experience. Waiting staff were helpful and nothing was too much bother as we're the kitchen staff. The room cleaners were always cheery, servicing room daily which was more than expected. Reception staff helpful as were TUI staff, both very knowledgeable about the area with some great suggestions of where to visit and what to see

Been to royal kenz a few times last in 2014 with the event, sadly from then to now is miles apart. Beds sheets change for dirty ones see photo. Room barely cleaned, strong sewer smell coming from bath was fixed kept coming back. Paid for a garden view room got a hedge and a road. Ala carte used to be amazing total rubbish. No bed art everydone in our room even for wedding annversary. Saw 3 times people taste food in evening buffet and put it back for some person to then pick up, even trying chilli con carne staight from pot to mouth with serving spoon. Entaintment team.hard working but sometimes more 18-30 which is funny coz we were 2 reps Will return to tunisia next year but to diff hotel.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and really added to our holiday experience. Big shout out to Mohammed working the pool bar and beach bar for the great banter and always bringing a smile toniur face. Chicco and Hamaz along with Shazy from the animation team also created an amazing holiday. The restaurant staff did really well to deal with all the guests and the head chefs couldn't be more helpful arranging lactose free foods for me for breakfast and dessert. If you ask, they will do their best to accommodate. Plenty of choices freshly cooked at each meal for all 4 of us that went away together. The rooms could be updated but the housekeeping team kept them clean. The fire show and changing ladies show were well worth a view. The grounds were well looked after. The alcohol is local brands so not quite on par with what we would usually have, beer is good and cola is branded. I used the onsite hairsalon and they did a fantastic job for a very good price. I had highlights, colour and trim. I also visited the spa, which again was good value for money. You can change money at reception and there is a cashpoint onsite. The hotel shop is very reasonably priced and even had some branded chocolate. We will definitely return and would recommend this hotel.
