A Hotel Full of History
Staying at this hotel feels like stepping back in time to the 1910s. The historical charm has been beautifully preserved, from the reception area to the rooms, with vintage details such as old-style telephones, beds, and mirrors.
Room: The view of West Lake 西湖 from the room was simply stunning. The room, however, did have a slight smell of dampness due to the age of the building, and the bed was a little firm.
A special thank you to Donna 朱化美 from Housekeeping for her kindness and precious assistance during my stay.
Location: The hotel is perfectly located, just across from the lotus flowers on the lake. During holiday periods, however, the street outside becomes completely jammed with cars and traffic hardly moves.
Breakfast: A very good selection with plenty of variety to start the day. I especially enjoyed a delicious green steamed dessert that was outstanding.

Comfortable stay right on West Lake. Complimentary history lesson/tour of hotel and adjoining properties everyday 9am by a knowledgeable teacher.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay in this hotel. Beautiful hotel with its historic charms. Breakfast was great. The twin beds room view is slight disappointing as it was partially block and directly overlooking some construction

Very mixed experience. Location is excellent and decoration too. However some waiters seems no training at all. And no room service out of restaurants open time! Also quite noisy in the room, seems window glass not sound proof.

Unbeatable location next to the beautiful lake! A very charming elegant space for relaxation. Staffs all super nice and friendly! Would love to go back for another stay. Only wish is that the 1913 dining hall could be more Senior friendly removing that many stairs.
