Wasn’t looking forward to staying here after reading reviews. Not allowed to check in until 15:00 unless paid £15. Went through to pub to have a drink but like a ghost town and no staff at all and freezing cold. Booked a premier plus room which was ok. Clean bathroom. Room had a funny smell a bit like stale tobacco. Convenient for the train. Breakfast was one of the worse I’ve had at a premier inn and was passable at best. Think the worst decision they ever made was closing the pubs to the general public that are attached to them.

Good value as always. Clean rooms and bathroom. No smell of residual cigarette smoke which sets off asthma. Breakfast...having to place specific orders for Hotfood seemed forced and controlling. And I was in a rush to get to a conference. Checking out..no person, was notvsure if to leave card behind but did and dashed out as was running late for a conference.

Great location! A 5 minute walk and you’re at the train station - 1 stop and you’re inHarrogate town centre. Now onto the room!!! I like Premier Inns generally because they are efficient, CLEAN and have what you need. Unfortunately this one is a major let down! Dirty carpet, dirty bathroom, stains on curtains, stains on chair, stains up the walls and filthy skirting and a dirty coffee machine. Me and my husband checked in, left our belongings in the room and went out, we returned later that night, went to bed and when I got up the next morning I realised how bad this room was. On check out I spoke to the duty manager and showed him the photos, he jotted a few notes on a scrap of paper and advised me to go through guest relations as he couldn’t do anything! I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Not sure where to start. We booked a premier plus room, which on arrival wasn't very clean and had one tea bag and no sugar or coffee. Not the best start but we were going out so made do. We went out at 10am the next morning and asked for the room to be cleaned which it said we needed to do before 12. We returned at half 5 and the room hadn't been cleaned. We still had no tea or coffee and had to go down and ask the uninterested receptionist for towels . She was so unhelpful and didn't even listen to what I said so took the towels and left. Avoid this hotel there are much better hotels at similar prices.

3rd and unfortunately the last time I will be staying here. Cleanliness of the room was extremely poor. Various areas not cleaned properly including the carpet. The heater in my room and my colleagues next door sounded like we was back at our workshop, making banging noises. Colleagues coffee machine was broken, didn't try mine, just made a normal brew. I turned mine off the first night and it blindly refused to turn back on on my second night. Fortunately it wasn't too cold. The bar only had one choice of beer/lager on tap. All others had 'line issues'. Not happy about that. Wasn't fixed on my second night so had to purchase alcohol from a supermarket. Not convenient when it's a pub attached to a hotel.

If you are thinking of staying here I would book somewhere else. Filthy rooms, filthy public toilets and clearly missing a cleaner as there were scrambled egg bits under the table at evening meal time along with a napkin. Our room had an arrangement of cobwebs on the ceiling, filthy carpet, broken furniture no hot water in the basin and a filthy toilet. Ordered pancakes and fruit for a desert, cold pancakes and frozen fruit on the plate which has impacted on my wife’s teeth. When we said to the waiter he apologised and said there was a problem with the fridge. Perhaps environmental health should be looking at this….. First and last time we stay at this hotel.

On checking in asked to specify what time we would present for breakfast. Arrived on time to be told at least 30 minute wait. One waitress and one “chef” in kitchen. Buffet completely depleted and not replenished. 15 minutes and ordered taken. I use Premier Inns regularly for work and this is the worst I have ever experienced. Normally rooms have king sized beds. Here they are doubles. Room clean but shabby. Looks as though restaurant is not open for evening meals.

Arrived at lunchtime expecting to be able to get something to eat and drink before checking in, however the bar and restaurant were closed. Our ground floor room was dark/dingy and looked out onto a brick wall, it was also in desperate need of a VERY DEEP Clean, there was a layer of dust on all the skirting boards, lampshades, and heaven only knows what exactly was hidden in the base of the chair between the back and seat, and as for the carpet, you go barefoot at your own risk. Also apparently you must tell reception if you would like your room cleaned if staying for more than one night - surely it should be the other way round and your room is cleaned as a matter of course, we arrived back in the afternoon to find wet towels still in the bath, it took 20 minutes to get someone to actually attend reception to supply me with clean towels and loo roll as 'the cleaning staff had gone home !!'. Evening meal in the restaurant was distinctly unappetizing and overpriced for what we received. ( There is a very nice Italian just across the car park - go there instead ) Breakfast wasn't much better, if you could actually get any, when we arrived for our 10 am booking we were told it would be at least a 30 minute wait for hot food and there was nothing left of the continental breakfast offerings apart from juice and toast, it was at this point when we asked to speak to the manager, and we weren't the only ones...... In short this hotel is an absolute disgrace, if we hadn't already pre-paid the bill I would have refused to pay in full.

Lost count of how many times we have stayed at Premier Inns and never had any significant problems. We left this hotel thinking we had received poor value for money. We were asked to book a time slot for breakfast and attended the restaurant on time. We waited over an hour for our cooked breakfast order. The staff are run off their feet and trying to do a good job. The building had a run-down feel to it. Unless things change, and the ratings improve, we would stay elsewhere next time. Premier Inn have got something wrong here.
