The stay was in a very large house that was on top of the hill above the town and is very secluded from the main road. There is plenty of parking and an electric gate so very secure. This spotless house is surrounded by a large garden and fields. It is very quiet and private. The room was spectacular, right at the back overlooking a field. It had everything including a smart TV, hairdryer, fridge with bottled water, a sofa, refreshments tray and a dressing table. The en-suite bathroom was large and had an enormous bath which was welcome after a long day sightseeing. The breakfast is ordered the night before and you eat in the conservatory overlooking the garden. There is everything from full English to tea, coffee, orange juice and herbal teas. There are also cereals and toast with jam and marmalade. When you exit the property, turn left down the hill to the town. Turn right for less than a ten minute walk to takeaways. Nothing was too much trouble and the price was very fair. Ian and Fiona gave the best of welcomes and were very friendly. Ian even very kindly gave us an L plate as we were leaving as ours had fallen off! Thank you for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

Secure parking for my motorcycle was important for me which was a nice thing to have for peace of mind ,the room "seaside " looked over a woods and a snippet of the sea.One could walk in the woods ,lot,s of wild life , and history. The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean.Breakfast was served with a smile every morning ,selection of tea,s or coffee. Ian drove me to the centre of Hastings so i could get some rolly fudge as the centre was packed and there were no motorcycle spaces leftthank you. Fiona is a warm hearted person who is lovley to talk too and has always a open ear thank you also all my best wishes.

We are staying at Summerfields House as I write. It is a lovely summer’s day and it is delightful to be in such a comfortable room with dual aspect windows and a sea view. We arrived a few days ago and were welcomed very warmly by Ian and Fiona. They are very kind people who you feel you could talk to for hours. Ian helped us to our room which has a name rather than a number, “Seaside”. We were delighted with the layout, with a king size bed, a daybed, a dressing table and a wardrobe with a fridge inside - oh, and a small smart-TV. The room looked clean and smelt fresh and the en-suite bathroom was just as good. The power shower is fantastic! Our cooked breakfast in the morning was possibly the best I’ve had - don’t get me wrong, it isn’t hard to make a full-English good, but the sausages, in particular, were so much nicer than the many other places I have stayed. The house is on a drive, away from the road and is very private with gates so there is plenty of privacy, and we had some lovely sunshine to enjoy in the magnificent garden. Today, we went through the woods, past the walled garden, into town and down to the beach. We got to the town centre very quickly. I’m not sure it was as fast as walking along the road but we stopped at the museum, two doors away, when we went that way. We did quite a lot of walking, which we aren’t used to, so with tired legs we went next door for our evening meal to the recently refurbished “Bar 85” where we had some drinks and bites. They have happy hour between 5 and 7, which is handy for us. Today is our last day here. I would very much recommend Summerfields House to anyone looking for a B&B in Hastings and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we are.

Had a delightful two night stay here with my 9 year old granddaughter. Such a lovely warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely en-suite room with duel aspect views over front garden and the woods at the back of the house which we explored. Fabulous breakfast, cereal and full English, secure parking, great location, 20 mins walk to town and seafront and fantastic hosts! My granddaughter loved it here and says they were very kind she loved the welcome and wishes she lived next door! There is nothing not to love about Summerfields House.

Came by train from London for a quiet city break by the sea. Highly recommended. Very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Near a main road , convenient for buses , yet very peaceful. Weather not quite as expected , but that was out of everyone's control... Thank you to our hosts, Ian and his Chinese wife

We booked a couple of days in Hastings last minute, and came across Summerfield House as the reviews were really good. Fiona and Ian gave us a very warm welcome, and they were the greatest of hosts. Premises were clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable, which made a pleasant change from a hard hotel mattress. Breakfast was plentiful, and cooked to a high standard. Surroundings are very pleasant, and the location is perfect as its on the edge of town. It's definitely worth booking your stay here, as you won't be disappointed. Thank you Fiona and Ian. We hope to be able to return for another stay.

I was very pleased with my stay at Summerfields. Fiona and Ian were very helpful and friendly hosts. My room (Roses) was lovely. It was great to have a fan and mini-fridge available during the hot weather. Although the en suite is small, the shower is excellent - very powerful! The breakfast was very nice and they accommodated my request for an earlier breakfast each day, without any issue. The house is in a secure area, with parking available. The bed was comfortable and there was a lovely view over the rear garden. The location is fine for going into Hastings, although it's about a 15-minute uphill walk from the centre of town to get back! There are buses, however, so this isn't a major issue. It is also very close to the Summerfields Leisure Centre. I would have no hesitation in recommending Summerfields, nor staying there again.
